I've been reading lots of posts in this forum, but have never posted. My trusty 2003 Triumph Speedmaster was due for a makeover and thought you might like to see the results. I used to ride Triumphs and BSA's in the old days and felt this captured that spirit more than the stock speedmaster. Thanks to the forum for lots of great ideas.

Addition - you asked for a couple more pics. I included a before photo taken upon my return to Texas after picking the bike up in Idaho, heading into Canada and back home through the Rockies several years ago. Fun trip and she held up great. Cheers, Marty

Lookin' good, Marty!

Seems more and more of us around here lately are bobbing the rear fenders on our BAs and Speedies, doesn't it folks?!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

It amazes me how many I see with the reflectors still on. I drove my bike home from Hermy's got off it and pulled them off. There might be 1 or 2 shots of me on it right before I did it Wendy took that day.

Thanks very much for the compliments. The mods weren't anything major so I was able to do them in a week or so. They didn't cost much either, but the bike now suits me much better. I am still toying with the idea of new paint, but wanted to do all the mods first and check everything out. In any case, she's fun to ride. I take her out a lot.

And about the reflectors, although the stock turn signals always bothered me, the reflectors seemed OK. Besides, auto traffic has a hard enough time seeing me on the road as it is. Every little bit helps, I guess.

Cheers, Marty

Marty wher'd you find the taillight plate holder? It's just what i've had in mind for my bike.

About the tailight plate holder, the old lucas style tailight assembly is forged with the license plate bracket included and mounts with three screws/nuts (one high you can see and two low hid by the license plate). I found it on eBay for around $35. Just do a search for "lucas tailight" and get the one with the wider license bracket if that's what you're after. The one I got was cast aluminum and reminded me of the tailights on the old brit bikes I used to ride as a kid.
