I've just picked up some saddlebags and am looking for the guard / support I need. I've read several reports in this and other forums that the supports for a Honda Magna will fit. After a few hours on google, I've found these which look like the best I've seen so far. http://www.mcenterprisesusa.com/products/search/dsp_searchForm.cfm(Will need to select 'Saddlebag Guards' from the Parts Group drop down and scroll down to #143) I emailed the company and asked for the bolt hole to bolt hole distance and they said 5 3/4". I went a measured my bike and it was 5". While scratching my head, I looked to the right and what did I see ... a Honda Magna So, I measured the bolt to bolt distance and it was also 5". I double checked with MC Enterprises but they were sure the distance was 5 3/4. I'm really not sure whether to order them because though they promise it will fit the Magna (and logic dictates they should also fit my Speedy) they are also sure about the measured distance. Can anyone point me in the direction of a pair of support that will 100% fit and don't look sh!t? I've considered easy / ghosts brackets but don't want them to stick out from the side of the bike that much. I also take my sissy bar and rack off every now and then and it takes all of 2 minutes. Can't see it being anymore hassle to take the bags off should I ever want too. Also, if interested these are the bags I got ... http://leatherneckjims.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_7&products_id=15Got them for $250, actually made by a company called Auburn Leather

Also found these but don't like them as they fall in to the looks awful category http://www.classiccruiser.com/product.asp?item=439375These ones are a bit better but I still prefer to look of the MC's http://www.cavalrycustoms.com/store/product74.html

I have the Honda Magnum supports. They are 5" on center. They don't look like #143 at that web site. They angle back toward rear of bike but stay 5" apart all the way down to the bottom crossbar. Wayne

Go to ebay and search "Honda Saddlebag Guards". There are some that have them layed out with a tape measure and are 5". That's where I found mine. Wayne

Those look just like mine. Might even be same supplier. the only thing else you might need is longer chrome (or regular) bolts for mounting. On my America I have the back rest also so the bolts needed to be longer. I went with new chrome ones. I believe they are different sizes too. Watch when you take them out and check sizes.. Wayne

Why get the Honda ones when they have buttloads of them specifically listed for Speedmaster/America?
BTW, the Honda ones in the ebay link seem to have a dogleg in them, does that do anything silly as opposed to a bracket that hangs basically straight down?

I think it's so the bottom part of the guard is flush with the outside edge of the bolt hole
