I have my jetting dialed in according to Dinqua's calculator, but since wrapping my headers I'm getting a lean pop when I come off the throttle at freeway speeds. Since I'm mostly on the needle at that point would you suggest upping the needle by one shim? or do you think I should up my mains by a couple of points. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I suggest leaving the main jets alone. If anything, maybe 45 pilots & adjust the screws accordingly.

Or, try one .5mm shim & leave everything else alone. That would be the easist to do.

you're on the idle circuit. whereas you were on the midrange/mains er on the needle at freeway speed. A little popping is alright. however if it bugs you, try starting with turning out the air mixture screws 1/4 turn each.

He's already 3.5 turns out, and the needle height will make a difference.

"'04 Speedy. Emgo 19" turn-outs, Polaris bellmouth, 130/42 Thrux needles, 3.5 turns. "

gotcha. That's close to my setup. DnDs, 130/42, polaris, tbs needles, one shim, close to 3.5 turns. And I want 45s...

Given the thrux needle, like you +1, i'd suggest he try the 45 pilots at 2 turns no shims first. I take it the main is fine. The midrange is fine. Thus the pilot change only.

I shimmed the needles this morning and it helped. It also took care of a flat spot I had in my midrange. I'm still going to go with the 45s. It just makes sense.
