Just a quick question. I've been thinking of a horn upgrade. I wanted the air horn from Steible (sp) that everyone was putting on their bikes before. I was wondering if it was the "nautilus" (sp) model? If so I think that my local Canadian Tire is stocking them now. They aren't chrome but I wanted to paint it black anyway. Any input would be great. Also any ideas where to mount it too. My battery is under the seat so I was thinking of under the bike? Thanks. NR

Hey ya Nick... check this article out before you decide on anything. It affected my decision on which horn to go with (which was not a Stebel).
Live to love, love to live.

I've had the Stebel, mounted in the stock location, on my America for a couple of years. Have bought a couple more for other vehicles. No problems with any of them. They are not the most attractive hanging in the stock location, but some have mounted them elsewhere with good result.

It's a Stebel Nautilus Compact. I've had one on mine in the standard spot (actually lifted up slightly so it's mostly hidden) for about 2 years and it's still great. The only suggestions I'd make is be sure you use a relay to avoid putting too much current through the horn button, and use some clear plastic tubing running under the tank from the horn to avoid getting water in the air inlet - water kills them quick. The horn comes with an optional fitting for tubing.
