after putting a hole in my oil cooler on my 06 TBA I would like to protect it from any future damage, anyone know where I can buy a guard,

Did you ever get your oil cooler repaired? And what about the thought of a mud guard on the front fender to protect the bike from stuff flying up off the tire? Also, check this thread for ideas.

A good hardware store often sells small sheets of assorted perforated metal.

A layer or two of 1/4" or 1/2" hardware cloth would work too.


Some black spray paint if you like & some wire ties could hold the guard in place and you're good to go.
(Galvanized wire may require a special primer.)

wipe galvanized with vineger and its ready to paint. or let it weather for a season and it will be ready but vineger does the trick

got the cooler repaired today, cost me £42. found some stainless mesh so i'll make something up myself. still havent seen a manafactured guard for sale anywhere though.

Staffo it can barely be seen , there is no frame of anything , just stainless mesh of cut cable tied to the frame in front of the oil cooler
It,s tuff stuff as long as you don't have it touching the cooler all,s well
