Looks good to me. I was going to make one sometime, but if that works I may not have to. Could save the 85 bucks tho.

Just 1 small problem - most of the tools that I have seen actually bolt on to the side of the cam box using one or two of the bolt holes that are provided to hold the cam box cover in place. As far as I am aware, the Hinckley bonnie engine uses 4 bolts that locate in the top of the cam bearing caps to hold this cover in place i.e. there are no locating holes in the edge of the cam box lip. Can these tools be used without bolting them to anything to keep them from slipping while in use? And from one of Dinqua's threads I thought there were 2 valves that were obstructed in a way that necessitates cam removal to adjust their clearance.
But if its possible it would be much better than having to remove the cams..

Regards

Jan

I had the impression that there wasn't room to slide the shims out past the cam on these engines.

On further review I have to agree with greybeard. There just cant be enough room to get two of the shims out. Maybe possible to get the other six. But this really would solve anything. Well maybe if you only needed to adjust the possible six.

I am not sure what the big deal is about this. Removing the cams is a piece of cake. Once the cam cover is off, takes all of 15 minutes to remove them.
