I have spoken to the landlady at The Dog and Gun (72 Keats Lane, Earl Shilton, Leicester LE9 7DR - 01455 842 338) just down the road from Mallory Park and she is open from 12pm and very happy for use to use the pub as a meeting place (I am sure there will be a bit of business in it for her ).

I am aiming for 2.30pm although might be a little earlier if all goes well (later if it doesn't go according to plan).

Campsite opens at 4pm

Hope to see you all there!

Ride safe!

There's this place

http://trustedplaces.com/review/uk/hinckley/bar-pub/1w4357q/hinckley-knight#1a7n48

Its just off the M69 on the A5, easy to find. I've often seen bikes outside and I know its used as a rest stop/meeting point for people going to the RTTW (I've seen pictures but couldn't find them). Also its got plenty of parking. I can't vouch for the beer as I've never been in there

Earl Shilton is a nice enough place but traffic can be a b!itch

Bit of local knowledge makes all the difference

The contact details are:

The Hinckley Knight
Watling Street, Burbage, Hinckley, Leicestershire LE10 2JQ

That works for me - will be there at about 2.30pm.

Sounds good to me.... I have had a look on a Google maps and can see the "Barcelo Hinckley" looks a big place is it on the same side of the roundabout? What time are we arranging to meet then

Ray, if you look at google maps, from the "Barcelo" go north to other side of the roundabout, find the "harvester", Hinckley Knights is on the opposite corner. Good level car park.
oh by the way the Barcelo has a Triumph Bar/Coffee lounge.

Bryn's right, Earl Shilton and Hinckley are a nightmare at rush hour. Better to meet on A5. Only 3 roundabouts to Triumph factory from Hinckley Knights!!!

At this point I could say something about tight fisted Poles that would do 'anything' to get into an event for free!!!!!!!

But of course I wouldn't dream of saying anything like that!!!!

It doesn't open for camping until 4pm. It is about 15 min from Hinckley Knight.
I have booked Annual Leave for the Friday, but have to go to Warwick Uni in the morning for a meeting I was unable to cancel. So I would say anytime between 3pm and 3:45pm at Hinckley Knight.
Also I know Jane is working nights and finishes Friday morning, so would like to have a bit of a kip. Although I can possibly think why!!!!!

Re the Stranglers ... I Stormed the castle last weekend and they were headlining on the Sat night. They were brilliant, so I am looking forward to another dose of Golden Brown. Hearing should have recovered by then!! Pardon??

I am now working on Friday (starting at 04.30 so I can finish as early as possible) so might be delayed.

Suggest Woodall Services at 13.30 if that works for you? Should be about 8 of us meeting there -

Tickets arrived at last, unfortunately the factory tour is for the Sunday. As I'll likely be leaving early doors on the Sunday I'll probably have to give it a miss, unless anyone wants to swap a Sunday pass for a Saturday one.
