I like it but not the exposed squared off frame in the rear and also would rather forwards controls. Love the chrome rear fender and old style tank and taillight. Also like chrome side cover and fenderless narrow front end.

Definitely a standard bonnie. Looks kinda cool. I wouldn't ride it. Not much travel in those seat springs.

Don't you mean no travel once you sit on them?

Exactly.
If I ever get around to building a Bonnie hardtail with the LC Fab weld-on sub frame, I'll use some much beefier choppershox for the seat...

I guess you mean a pair of struts? A member on here "skidivejeff" rode with those for a little while on his bike until it drove him crazy and he converted to cut springs I think. I'm pretty sure 1 or 2 other guys on here tried struts and changed back.
I guess you decided against cutting the stockers?

yeah thats what Ive seen them referred to as. "Struts" Heres a set that biltwell makes for sportsters http://www.lickscycles.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1800The strut idea was always kinda pointless to me because , aside from ride height, the only reason why people ride a hardtail (besides bragging rights) is because the frame looks cool without the springs mounted. So youre not eliminating those 2 pieces from the bike youre just replacing them with something that makes the bike lower and rides harder. So if you cut a set of springs, you'd have a bit of flex and you change your ride height. Theres another option to look up info for...some members use lowering blocks or lowering brackets. It changes the angle of the stock shock so that it sits lower. You cant buy them from anywhere right now but they used to be sold. Some guys have made their own. Like Damien I dont particulary like them myself but I'm sure he can give you some info on it.

We ALWAYS put struts on bikes with rear shocks when running quarter mile. (track or back road). Your launch can go seriously wrong with shocks. But we never had anything as nice as those shown above! Ours where just square tubing. (or THICK flat stock, if you REALLY want ghetto) Never did it for looks!?!?
And you may see me tonight
