My son and I were going cross state last weekend and spent some time following 4 Flaming Knights. I had never heard of this MC so, if you know my sense of humor, the jokes and questions were flying. After getting home, I googled them and read of the club history and purpose. The name came from this FK websight:

"The name FLAMING KNIGHTS came from the way the fellows were promiscuous with the ladies, so since they thought they were hot it was suggest, by their ladies, that they call themselves FLAMING KNIGHTS.

Other names being considered were "The 4 Horsemen" and "Royal Knights".

While I'd not ask ANY MC members about their name, I did wonder if they asked themselves in the 80's whether they had chosen the 'best' name, considering the whole 'flaming' option...

Or maybe it was the bright yellow patch w/red letters and the leapord helmet that set me to wondering about the Flaming Knights.

No disrespect intended for the club, I just have an inquiring mind!

later, Tom.

But, what do I know?

Yeah Tom, I suppose that's pretty much like when Hoty Curtin was composing music for Hanna-Barbera Productions, he would have been unaware that in just a few short years after he had penned the lyrics to a certain prime time cartoon show's theme song about a "modern stone age family" and stating in that song that by spending time with Fred, Wilma, Barney and Betty one would have "a gay old time", that THAT would eventually mean something ENTIRELY different to the viewing audience, huh?!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I have a mate in the Blue Knights, which for a law enforcement MC club I always thought it was a bit sus. They are a great bunch however and don't take themselfs to seriously which after meeting quite a few of the outlaw clan is a refreshing change.

I think we need more like them - Tea and Scones MC
