Anyone running their epcos with the baffels out? Is there a big difference in sound, etc. Also can you still use the same jets that came with the epcos?

I thought about pulling my Epco baffles just for a bike night loud pipes contest, but didn't. Everything I've read about our bikes is that there needs to be some back pressure in order to keep performance up and everything in tune. Not only that, they're plenty loud as it is....almost too loud. I wouldn't mess with them, but that's just me.

I've been tempted to take the baffles out of my Epco's just to hear them but haven't done it yet. Maybe when it gets warmer and where I can do it without upsetting the neighbors. I love the sound of my pipes but I think they've mellowed out a bit since I put them on last year. Maybe my hearing is just getting worse because of them

I`ve run my Epco`s without baffles since day one.I`m running the jets that came with them.I`ve got the custom ones that run even with the back fender.I love them!I think performance is just fine.I put the baffles in once(thought i`d make the wife happy)She got on the bike and first thing she said was ,"What did you do to it?I like it better the other way"God i love that women! You know what they say,Loud pipes save lives and if it`s too loud than your too old!!

I pulled the baffles out last year. I did put the retainer back in to provide a small amount of back pressue.

After removing the set screw,i took a coat hanger cut it and bent one end in a hook shape small enought to go through the end cap of the baffle and pulled it back towards the end of the pipe in several places and moved the baffle alittle at a time.It came right out that way.

after removing the set screw, place a pile of towels on your garage floor and bash your pipe on them straight down. the baffle and set plate will slowly move out of the pipe. I didn't even mark my pipe. good luck

I beat and banged on mine and it never moved. My interest was in possibly reducing the sound level instead of increasing it. Iv since modified my oringal silencers, so I haven't fooled with them lately. There's been at lot of epco bashing here at times but over all I think they're fairly good pipes for the price..

Joker I ride a lot with Foolish (Kasey) who has a set of custom length Epcos on his bike (see my gallery). The are 48” in length and he decided to get them without baffles. The are the loudest pipes I’ve ever heard, in fact the are obnoxiously loud so we make him stay are the rear of the pack when we ride.
