I'm wondering if this has occurred to any other owners. I have an 09 America. The “mushroom†that is attached to the frame that holds the side-stand spring has snapped off. It is part of the frame. I have had a good look and there are no marks or gouging, so I’m assuming it didn’t hit anything. I'm waiting to find out if it’s going to be covered by the guarantee.

That sucks, I haven't heard of that breaking off on these bikes before. On the kickstand is a different story, but not on the frame. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Sucks all-right. What a pita position to work on. I'm thinking on putting a small cap screw in there to remedy it, and obtain another spring. Have to hoist up the front end or lay it over and drill and tap a hole.

Yeah, that's a new one. The tab on the actual kickstand breaks off all the time, especially the early years.

Yikes!.. That sucks.. it is part of the left side down tube of the frame.. not a part of the major assembly but the frame nonetheless. A lot of pressure there man, dunno if a screw will hold.. and one too big will compromise the strength of the frame. I'm thinking warranty should definitely cover it though.

Thats right chy, its the lower left side. I looked it up on the Bikebandit site, about $190US to replace the frame part. Today I got a ring from the dealer and he asked how many K,s. (1,1032) and said he would let me know in a few days if they will cover it. Looking at it again I see I can unbolt it and work on it if i have to.

I took the bike down to thw dealer yesterday. They took some photos and said they would send them off to Triumph. Today I got a ring from the Dealer and they will supply and fit a new frame bar and spring under the gurantee. It has to come from the UK and they will give me a ring when it arrives.

Could you have damaged it using a bike jack?
