I posted this on a non motorcycle forum. What do you think?

It is difficult to explain having a bike in your blood. But this machine is a part of me.
It isn't quite Christine but people who ride will often care for a bike as an individual.
Riding is almost equivalent to a sexual experience with your bike as a partner.

Picture this, you are riding down a country road straddling her. You can feel her warmth
and vibration. You enter a curve and she leans with you caressing you in a gentle
embrace. The curve tightens thrusting the two of you closer. You grit your teeth and
bare down leaning, holding the turn, tense with exertion, and then it ends in release
as you straighten up and relax ready for the next curve in the distance.

Gee, sounds like you should get a room.

I compare it to flying.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I have only had a few flight lessons, but I also agree that riding a bike is a bit more like flying. Feels just a bit more like you are a closer participant in the journey. You go into a curve, and feel the force of the turn catch you with your bike. You look into the next curve and feel like your bike is part of you. In a car, your body sways opposite of the turn. Even the really awesome sports cars will throw you against the seat belts. When you are flying, the feel of the controls and how the plane drops into an air current is like a really awesome curve on a bike.

Blimey! I would say that the UK perspective is a bit different.

Picture this, you are riding down a country road clinging for dear life to your machine because the road is a bit greasy, full of potholes and litter. You can't actually feel very much, let alone heat, because you have had to wear waterproofs, an armoured jacket and thick woollens. You enter a curve and wonder if you are going to actually make it out again because of the diesel spillage that should have been cleaned up by the local highway authority.
The curve tightens.......so does your sphincter. You would grit your teeth if you had any and bare down being careful not to "touch cloth". Holding the turnsignal because the salt corrosion has weakened the join, tense with rheumatism it then ends in release of gasses because there are unfinished roadworks and raised ironworks. You straighten up because you are going to slide on a manhole cover if you don't and just look forward to the next curve which is coming up sooner than you think.

Still, it's fun though isn't it?

Before the war on terror, if I saw an unattended package I used to think "I'll be having that!"

Thanks Stretchermonkey...LOL, your perspective reminds me a lot of mine.. the raingear, the crummy roads, of course here it's paintstripes, manhole covers, and murderous soccer moms in their 2 ton weapons changing three lanes at a whack. Of course, I spend a lot of time riding and not sitting here at my computer dreaming about the romance and orgasmic thrills. The bottom line for me is, I'm out in the middle of my travels, not a spectator behind a cage of steel and glass, and no, I won't be trading that anytime soon.

Stretchermonkey. Awesome. We don't have flouride here. Your riding conditions are here briefly. I call it spring. The time is drawing nigh.

Maybe that's the non-motorcycle site he was talking about.

Somewhere between Rev's and stretchermonkey's perspectives is where I stand, i.e., between ecstasy and a sphincter-altering moment!

I want to put that slogan on a T-shirt. I can see it now, a grayscale image of a cruiser leaning hard into a turn, with that line under it. Ive been there and I'll bet a lot of others here have as well....

GREAT IDEA and good humour!!! I'd love to get some t-shirts made up with that on 'em.
