http://www.vipermotorcycle.com/Pretty impressive even if it's not my first choice in a high dollar motorcycle. Fit and finish was flawless. All the major components are aircraft quality billet aluminum. The power of that 152 cubic inch motor was pretty cool. Yes, I said one hundred fifty two cubic inches. Trans shifting was pretty smooth, third gear roll on would throw you back. Roughly 140 hp. Will run the quarter in the 10's. 2010 model will be approximately 145 hp/145 ft/lb torque. Cornering was a little awkward with that 230 rear tire, but not nearly as bad some mass produced bikes I've ridden, and I could probably do a little better with some more seat time. Oil in frame, on the fly adjustable rear air suspension, big dollar front suspension, good front brake, easy hydraulic clutch operation, digital gauges, but a lot of heat off the single walled pipes/engine(would probably be too much in a Texas summer). The biggest downfalls for me was the location of the footpegs- about 6 to 8 inches too far forward, and the fact that sitting at idle was like using a big block hemi with a lumpy cam as a paint mixer. There are some days I really like my job.

As custom bikes go, that's actually not bad. It would be fun to let such a big motor rip! Are folks still buying these big dollar bikes? (guessing around $35-$40k?)

140 HP. That has a nice ring to it. Bet it would look good in solid color / no stripes flat or even gloss black.

I guess it's a good thing then that Ness can't copyright a style or type of bike (in this case pro-street or hotrod or whatever). There are infinite variations. That would be like copyrighting flame paint jobs.

Lucky lucky man!! How balanced was the bike side to side? It looks like it would be reasonable with the right side drive tranny.

The bike was very well balanced. The company has been around for about eight years, building in limited quantities. The owner is a friend of my boss and a very cool guy. He's making the rounds on his way to daytona for the unveiling of his 2010 model, priced about $30k. (Was Ness painting victorys back in 02? )

04 but he has been painting like that for 40 years. He is not just about Victory. I think it has a lot of Ness in it. Then again, Ness and Fairless kinda set the stage for particular looks. Here is a Ness. I think it looks like the one above.

Well Stewart, I have no idea what it must be like to have 145 ponies (let alone many other super features) to play with on two wheels, but it must be quite the sensation. It seems much more than just a muscle machine with a pretty face. I was reading. Things like...
- Viper Designed Wiring with 40 amp 3 Phase Charging System - Rivera Pro 6-Speed with Over-Drive
and...
- Inverted Adjustable Forks - Viper Designed Swing-Arm And “On-The-Fly†Adjustable Air Ride System - 120/70-21 front tire - 260/40-18 rear tire
I woulda loved to have been in your helmet that day. Like I said, I have no idea what it's like to ride such a machine. It just supersedes anything I've ever been in contact with. That is quite a ride you sampled there!!
Live to love, love to live.
