I made the 60th payment today, and my bike still looks and runs brand new. I couldn,t ride much the last couple of years so I've only got about 15000 mi. on her. Should last me a lot longer. I Think I'm gonna buy a superglide custom next but keep the America. I've always loved triumph and harley so I'll have the best of both worlds

Yep! Congratulations, Dave! Well done!!! And now...one down and two to go, huh???!!! ("two to go", you ask?..well YEAH, one is that Harley you now wanna get, and the OTHER is YOUR SHARE of the $750 billion we owe the CHINESE!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

YEP, back in the late 70's early 80's, I had a TR6 and a hardtail ironhead sporty at the same time, since then I've had both brit bikes and Harleys just not at the same time. Both my kids are grown now, even tho my daughter is still in college, so its time for me (and the chinese) and my wife. She wants to start riding herself instead of pillion, and my america has been lowered so after she takes the msf course I might have to let her ride it(scary).

Congratulations! I will be doing the same next week. I had been planning on using the money freed up for a big bore, but unfortunately just before christmas, a young lady pulled out in front of me from a stop sign and I wound up totaling my truck. I bought a new one and then proceeded on to try to cull the local deer herd with it 2 weeks later. 2 $500 deductibles and 2 rentals = no big bore this year. Oh well. It could have been worse. I could have been on the bike when she pulled out from the stop sign....
