I was saying in another thread that I wasn't getting the Triumph mag. but just got one and I didn't sign up this year! I think the trick was not to sign up, then they send it!

Got mine last week. Not bad. Good report on the Thunderbird. Nothing on the America or Speedy though.

So is this the one that verifies Triumph made 50,000 bikes last year?

I received my copy yesterday. I think it was Digby who stated "just under 50,000 bikes" and /or "one unit every 3 seconds" for 2009. I enjoyed the content of the magazine; even though there was no articles on the America or Speedmaster.
If by "artsy", FJ, you mean very difficult to read due the small fonts or the gray text knocked out of a colored background... then, yes.

I thought Triumph mentioned paying attention to demographics. Wouldn't this tell you that we don't see as good as a 20 something? The read gave me a headache, but I enjoyed the content.

What makes you so sure their major demographic is sight-impaired geezers? We (and I use "we" loosely) could very well be in a demographic minority.

By arty I mean so-called "high-end graphic design." Small fonts are just part of it. Use of whitespace, relationships between photos and text. High-end professional photography. Rhythm. Repetition. Contrast or lack thereof (light grey text on a white background? please). From a graphic design perspective, it looks pretty good. But that doesn't mean it's for everybody. They are definitely going for a younger, hipper (and dare I say, sophisticated) market.

There, now I feel better about this month's payment on my pretty much unused graphic design degree...

Wait a minute.. umm.. it was hard to read AND no mention of Speedmericas.
I think they DO have us pegged demographically, and choose to leave us out.

LOL

Here's link to the last 3 issues of TriuMPH

I don't think there was mention of the Speedmericas in any of them. Could this be part of Bloor's 5 year plan, phasing us out for the T-Bird?

Mine arrived on Friday. Pretty intersting articles so far. Mr. Bloor seems kind of dry, but that's what I expected of a British business exec. Mr. Jones sounds like a glorified PR man and pretty well connected. I thought the T-bird article was an good read. It's a nicer piece that I would have expected for free.

Thanks very much for the link.

Unfortunately I am not very fond of eyestrain and headaches, so I won't try to actually read it online!

I'll just wait, maybe eventually mine will arrive.

(Seriously, I do appreciate you posting the link. Thanks!)
