Once in a lifetime snow, over 6" outside ( ok , once every 10 years or so snow) It is complete pandamonium around here with kids building snowmen , and some building snow women (scandalous) . We have 4-wheelers ( no , the little 4-wheel motorcycle wanabe's) running up and down the highways (no traffic) pulling old car hoods filled with screaming kids , one neighbor brought out his Massey Ferguson ( big tractor) and was seen pulling three (3) car hoods down the highway filled each with screaming kids of all ages......I made my son snow ice cream last night and he thought it was awesome.. my daughter is in Norman , OK (O.U.) and the kids their have gone nuts she says with "snow mania" ..... her sororiety all went out and made snow angels ( isn't that precious) and last but not least the pomeranian ( um... it's the wifes dog) is having some difficulty copeing due to a lack of "ground clearence" alas it will all be gone (mostly) by Monday as the high tomorrow is forcast to be 41 and 43 on Monday..... then we will be left with the mud... but for two days we will be "Aspen" here in little Muldrow Oklahoma....times like this I wish I'd kept my sidecar rig !

I was LMAO last night when on the news they said the governor declared a state of emergency for OK! 6" you say? I bet everyone ran out and bought 3 weeks of food, probably not a grocery store around with bread, milk or eggs today!

I have never understood that. I get the bread for sandwiches, but can anyone explain the logic of running out and buying perishables like milk and eggs in the event that they may be trapped without water or electricity? I buy dried meat, canned goods, and fill the bathtub and any other container with potable water.

I used to live in Norman and still have some family there. Too bad there is no place for sledding there.

I have no idea, I never stock up on anything for bad weather. I figure if I really need it, I'm gonna go out in the snow and get it.

I may not be able to get out to a main road if it gets bad, so I stock up and huncker down.

I'll have to bare in mind that about 100 yards down the road there's a complex full of easy pickings. Little old ladies I mean

Gotta friend in Choctaw. He has the only snowthrower in town he brought with him from N Dakota. Says it's funny except for all the other drivers not knowing how to drive in it.

Wow. Ive spent the last 45 years in either upstate NY or Minnesota and have seen more than my fair share of snow. But this is the first time Ive heard of dragging kids around using car hoods for sleds. I love it!! Thank God we hadn't heard of it when I was a teenager, we would have been doing it at way too high speeds...
