Somehow this Anti-virus program got in my system. I deleted the program but the pop-up warning "Warning! visiting this site may harm your computer" keeps coming up interfering when I want to log on to websites, even if I know they are safe. I have McCaffee already installed but any suggestions on how to rid myself of the pop-up?

I had the same one last week. I ended up ghosting my whole computer rather than fight the virus. You have to back up all your files as ghosting means starting all over.
If you are randomly receiving the following error, you probably have Conficker: Generic Host Process for Win32 Services encountered a problem…
If your getting that, I can send you a patch. Let me know.

Microsoft Security Essentials has done a good job of remving things like that from my daughter's computer, and the price is right. (Free) http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/Dave

No I'm not getting the warning you quoted, Chris. Yes Bryn, it is a pop-up blocker but it has a thing where I can click "proceed un-protected". I've been having the most problems with getting on E-bay and sites that have advertisements on them like Dictionary.com. I have gotten rid of the ContraVirus site by going to my contol panel and removing the prgram but I can't shake the pop-up blocker. I hope I don't have to do the ghost thing.

We had something like that once and it was actually a trojan horse (I think that was the name) running in the background and had to have our entire hard drive replaced, and recovery of our data was not possible. Every time we clicked on it to close it, it actually started again. It was a bit expensive, we also were told to turn off the computer entirely to keep from infecting others. Hope it works out for you.

DAVE IS THE MAN! I downloaded "Security Essentials" (it takes about 50 minutes for the initial scan) and actually there was only one threat but it identified it and got rid of the problem. No more blocker. Thanks for your help, Dave.
