This here small town I live in is FULL of noise!! What the heck, I say to myself as I lazily wake up on this supposed to be quiet Sunday morning. But NO!!! There's all this thumping over loud speakers, and people yelling and cheering and who knows what else as noise pollution drifts up to my lofty nest upon the mountain.
I don't get the paper so I don't know what's going on. After coffee I phone a friend who does get the paper and he explains. It the Olympic torch relay ceremonies going on. Meanwhile Rick Mercer (might have to be Canadian to know who that is) is in town while attending the Rossland (just 6 miles away) Winter Carnival and that Rick guy can attract a crowd on his own.
So much for a quiet town... today at least. Might as well get out there and join them.
Live to love, love to live.

If you miss the torch relay I can send you pictures. I saw it in Jordan, over here on Lake Ontario.
Never saw one in the States. Guess I don't live anyplace interesting enough.

........and here I thought Trail, BC was a big towne Keith. You have stop/go lights & everything. T. Falls has 1,300 people, most of the time. .......of course I've heard of Rick Mercer, hasn't everyone? That's stuff. jh

Yeah... I remember that time on my deck you thinking Trail was BIG compared to T. Falls!
Well this small town shared a piece of history today. I didn't go down to join in on the festivities, but I watched it from my deck. For everyone now in the grip of winter... note our lack of snow!! We've had an EASY winter this year... just hope there's enough down there on the coast for the Olympics. And ya know... I've already seen 2 bikes since New Years. That NEVER happens.
Anyway, I got some pics from the deck of the Torch brigade going by.

Yeah, bummer eh?
I was either on the phone or sending and receiving emails (setting up a nice order of cool stuff with Eddy) for a good part of the morning so didn't get down to the festivities. Glad I got those pictures though.
