Like last year, the end of January means another 600 mile pilgrimmage across mountain and basin sagebrush to the Cowboy Poetry Festival in scenic Elko Nevada. If you're in the area, I'll be the tall goofy lookin' guy wearing an old leather jacket w/ba.com patch hobbling about the convention centre. http://www.westernfolklife.org/site1/ind...rformances.html"Riders in the Sky", very cool......... jh

Well, I'll be chaperoning 3 so-called adult friends and sometimes co-workers. If they screw up, they're on their own. Being the voice of reason, I'll put up with no tomfoolery.

Ummmmm...yeah....suuuuuuure. John'll be the "responsible one", huh?! Well, after THAT statement I think I'll be keepin' a real close eye on any news reports emanating from another Silver State locale in about a week or so. Yep! Sounds like that has all the makings of a cowboy version of that there "Hangover" movie to me, alright!!! (BTW John, hope ya have a great time there)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Now that's a big slice of Americana you can't get anywhere else. I'd love to see folks like Red Stegal or Baxter Black in person. They do some Cowboy Poetry on AM, Sunday mornings on "Willie's Place". Great stuff.

Following 4 Picon punches & dinner at a local Basque restaurant Friday night, one of the party made the following observation "Will we ever be normal again?" The stage acts were equally entertaining jh
