Oh yeah, we'll be headin' over Mingus Mountain again to get to Sedona, and so, yeah Ron, we'll be stoppin' in Jerome again. ______________________
Later today I'll be recapping this thread and begin taking a count of attendees, along with T-shirt requests. And I'll also post details on acquiring those tickets for the flat-track races, folks.
(yep, it seems most of the unpacking is now completed and now I can concentrate on this here SWTF!!!)
Speaking of Jerome, Who did I meet sitting outside the Spirit Room with a bueaty of a Classic Bonnie, The Man Himself.

Nice meeting you Yesterday Dwight, The AzRatPack will be coming up for the races, Maybe a few of us can join in on some of the other events/rides.
Satxron, it would be cool to see you again What's it been 3 years since we met on Yarnell hill?

Well, THERE'S that old Coastie! Was wonderin' where you've been Mike! (whew...for a while there I was thinkin' maybe one of those avalanches along the Million Dollar Highway up that way might've taken your sorry butt out or somethin', ol' buddy!!!)

Nope, I've dodged the avalanches and falling rocks. Just spending too much time working. You know how us old farts are, come home, drink a beer, crap out in the Barcalounger, get up and go to bed Speaking of sorry butts, the way the weather's been going, the first ride I get in that's over an hour long is going to be the run to Prescott. ( Reckon I'll need the big jar of Boudreauxs Butt Paste.)

Sorry to tell ya this Mike, but all the local stores 'round here have stopped importin' that french butt paste.
Yep, seems they're all tryin' to save money in this darn economy nowdays and are just carryin' the domestic Preparation-H brand ONLY!!!
(...and so, if those stores up there in Colorado are still stockin' their shelves with that fancy imported butt paste and you're used to usin' only THAT kind, then you better plan on bringin' your supply of it with ya this year!!!)

Hey Dwight, I was finally going to make if over your way this year, since I'm living back in the neighborhood (ABQ), but of all things to happen, I finally landed a job!!! I start April 12. I don't know my schedule yet, so it's hard to make plans. I haven't completely ruled out a quick overnighter. I'll just have to see how it goes over the next few weeks. Cody

Thanks. I'm going to work for Hewlett-Packard. It should be challenging. I'm pretty excited.

So Dwight, which race tickets is everyone going for? Most likely we will just go for the grandstand/track side. Do you know if any motorcycle type vendors will make a showing? Two and a half weeks and counting. Bob

Darn good questions there, Bob. I rode out to the fairgounds a few weeks ago and scoped out the venue, and I think the best vantage point to watch the action is probably up a little higher in the grandstands. And so, I think we should all go that route. And re the vendor thing...I'm not really sure if there is going to be a big vendor turnout, but I have a feelin' there might just be at least some folks hawkin' stuff like maybe T-shirts with somethin' printed on 'em like "The Inaugural Prescott Mile" and stuff like that, so I'd bring a little extra moolah if I were you, ol' buddy!

The Triumph powered Bonneville Performance Race Team will be at the Yavapi Downs Mile. Look for National #32 Shawn Baer. He is our rider for 2010. Both of our bikes are powered by modified Speedmaster engines. We hope to see a lot of Triumph fans there.

Hey Bill, great to hear from my old Redondo Beach pal here again!
This is very cool news. Yep, we'll be cheerin' ya on that day alight!
(hey...do ya still have that beautiful Buell-powered Street Tracker I once drooled over in your garage there in California?)

Good to hear from you too. Hope you can make it to the races. We also have a 1/2 mile event at the Calistoga Fairgrounds (Napa Valley) on July 31. I do still have the Buell but it is a 1450 cc now--I also built a 1200 cc Triumph Street Tracker that will be with us at the Mile Race in Arizona. Geoff Patrick from American Triumph is scheduled to be there to do a story on the Triumph powered race bikes and the BP Race Team. The more Triumph riders there the better.

This is too cool that this race is going to part of your Rally Dwight. I've only been to the Daytona 200 once and had to remind myself what flat tracking is all about. Who can forget this guy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8k8hJWKIVNs&feature=related

Thanks for posting the race's schedule of events there, Bill. I'm figurin' if we SWTF attendees leave my house around 9:45am, we'll be at the track just as the first practices begin at 10:30.

Thanks for that link to "King" Kenny's return to the saddle of that TZ750, Paul! Yep, I think his old line of, "They don't pay me enough to ride that thing!", is probably one of the more famous quotes in all of motorcycle racing lore! Coincidentally, about 5 or 6 years ago and just before the event ceased to be, a friend and I were at one of the old premiere west coast motorcycle show/race weekends at Del Mar racetrack near San Diego, where there would be a saturday classic bike show, and then sunday they'd race The Mile event on the horse track. My friend Phil and I were standing trackside and actually helped push start that very TZ750 which was being ridden by one of the greats in flat track racing back in the '60s and '70s, Eddie Mulder. And after that bike started up and Eddie rode off, I swear it took me half a day for the ringing in my ears to stop. That sucker was L-O-U-D!!!!

Have a GREAT time all of you!!! And Dwight - I know WHY you moved this up in the calendar, but dang it, I had it penciled in the regular mid-May weekend! And this winter weather may still be doging you next weekend I am sorry to say!
This will be the first SWTF that I have missed, as I am still headed to Reno, despite the weather forcasts!!! Rain and heated gear will be going with me!
Take some good pictures! Becky

You'll be missed, Becky! And yeah, seein' as how it snowed here in Prescott last night, I know what ya mean about the weather, too! I'll bet you folks up there in Flag probably got an additional couple of inches more than we did, didn't ya?!
But, as you know, with the way the weather fluctuates around here, I'm bettin' next weekend'll be pretty nice.
(...well, I've got my fingers crossed anyway!)

What's the part number for the ski attachment for the front wheel. Mikey 'n me'd be most happy just to get p**sed on.
Keep the home fires and the hot tub burning - we'll be there as nature and my bladder permit.

Becky -
Why leave a huge carbon footprint to end up in rain and snow, when you can leave baby-tracks through the rain and snow to Prescott. Must be something/someone, perhaps muy, muy importante por la Corazon?

Just something I gotta do, been planned for months and months. Ya'll have a GREAT time - stay as dry as possible. I think its supposed to start clearing by the weekend!!! Becky
