There's some pretty cool carved leather grips on there.

Okay, I'm glad this thread got started... perfect timing because sometime back a different thread got started that involved the SAC grips. Recently I've tried to remember that website and voila, here it is. Great!! What I need to know is what grips fit our bikes. They have 'em listed for a bunch of bikes, and although they don't specifically list ours, I know one o' them is a perfect match. And so this question goes out to Max, or anyone else who might know... which bike on this list matches our bikes.

as far as gas caps go the after market caps made for 83 and later RH thread HD XL, FXR, Dyna, Softail, and Roadking fit our bikes up to 06 or 07 but still fit with a little persuasion.

From this thread: http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...part=3&vc=1"See my other post from a few months back. Any of the grips for "Honda 1-inch" fits America/Speedy. The good thing about these is that they use the OEM throttle sleeve. They are "almost" a direct fit (minor mod on throttle side), you remove the left side and just slip on the grip, just like the ISO's. On the throttle side, you only remove the rubber grip, (not the sleeve), by cutting off the rubber part of the grip. This is done while the assembly is still installed (no fiddling around with the throttle cables. The sleeve will have raised ribs. These ribs will have to be cut off using a Stanley Knife or a Dremel tool. You then just add some glue and slip the new grip over the throttle sleeve. If you ever want to go back to stock, you will need to buy a new throttle sleeve (around $10.00) Plus the rubber grip."

In my experience it was a bit more work than this to fit the throttle sleeve. Removing the ribs as described above was not sufficient by a long shot. About 1 to 2mm need to be ground off the stock plastic throttle sleeve as well to get a very tight fit. I used a dremmel and sandpaper to finish off. Soap was required to get the new grip on and was so tight that no glue was necessary.
Also - you don't need to cut the stock grip off. I managed to peel it back on itself (turning it inside out in the process). That way you can re-install if you wanted to - however you would need to pack you ground-down sleeve with something.

On the stock grip I push a thin blade screw driver between the bar and grip..then sprayed WD40 let is set and the grip came off real easy.
