I just got home about 20 minutes ago. Even though I came early and arrived on Monday, Sunday still came too quickly.

We are home. We stopped twice on the way, and Jennifer hit the ton for the first time in her very young motorcycling career. Was also nice to dump the bike in the Sandersonville Shell station parking lot. Watch out backing into a pot hole in a fully loaded Tiger.
Thanks to Chy and Di for another great Rally. We truly cherish you both and all of our family from BA.com. Special thanks to Mark for making the trip and sorry we couldn't spend more time with Moe and mert.
To the bad boys Keith and Charlie, shhhhhhhhhh.

Home and now I am going to make all the noise I want!
Road the Dragon again y'day and then did the Cherohala in the other direction. Was going to one shot it home y'day but God decided to turn on the air conditioning when I got into northern TN. Had all my gear on to keep warm and still froze my ****** off. Stayed in Lexinton, KY and booked it home from there.
Thanks all, great to meet the new faces and as always, Chy and Di rock the world!
Ride On!

What an awesome rally! So great to see everyone. Slow poked my way to Tupelo, Miss. Trying my lick at another hotel. Great ride today on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Shed a tear in Chattanooga when Yota kept going north as we went west. Parted ways with Donny, Paul, and Dennis at Lawrenceburg, Tn.
A big thanks to Chy & Di for hosting!
Already miss yall!

Dang it's cold out there.
Left Chy's at 8:40am, meaning I spent exactly 24 hours at the rally. Gassed up somewhere in TN and decided that instead of heading back to Brooklyn, I'll swing by PA for the night and spend a bit of Mother's Day with my mom.
Bad idea.
The highest temp I saw all day was 53, and it was a toasty 39 when I rolled into Altoona, PA. To make matters even worse, it's supposed to be 30 when I'll be waking up...but I guess I made my bed, now I'll hafta sleep in it.
Anyways...thanks to all, especially Chy and Di for their unwavering hospitality, Gordon for supplying the beer, and Ryan and Jennifer for offering up the extra bed.
See y'all next year. Hopefully I'll spend more time at the rally than travelling!
Mark

Happy Birthday Pete! While yous were riding to Ft Mountain, I was riding on 215. 12 hours of pushing and pulling finally had me at a hotel room round 9:30pm. Rode from Roanoke to Silver Spring on Saturday. It was a windy cold ride on the northern 100 miles of the BRP. Lot's of branches and leaves scattered at just the wrong apexes. So on the windward sides I had to slow to the posted speed limit. After several wheels shifts, kicked back in third gear and ran 5k+ rpms most of the way, Sure was nice riding the ridges under crystal clear blue skies and temps in the 60s. Heading home tomorrow. Undecided about slabbing it or heading West then South through Charlottesville/Waynesboro to pick up the parkway again. Fancy Gap to home is an easy day's ride. What with 77 right there and its connection to 26 then 95. Only issue is the forecast for tomorrow early-thirty. 44 degrees? Are they kidding me? Sounds like a 10 am departure. (52 degrees) . The Rally? Well it was one of the best! Some fantastic riding. Wednesday's ride on Wolf Pen Gap was brisk! The Thursday Cherohala ride was wicked! 50 mile visibility and warm enough for t-shirts. My little sweep on Spur 60 to 294 then soloing it on 68 was jimi and janis with a sprinkling of tim tossed in. The zumo navigated roll for Mike, Greg and I on Tuesday was another good one. From chowing down at Big D's BBQ on 53 to riding on Crown Mountain road. To taking an unknown route from 53 to Dahlonega and ending right across the street from Danny's. That was strange. Almost erie. Of course most things are when in that neck of the woods! Sorry I missed Mark. Oldroadie too! Dangit. Wish I could have been at the Saturday shindig. Had a keg of Yuengling to help ease the suffering though at my brother in laws 50th b'day party last night. One of the most intense rides ever was on the blue ridge parkway right after stopping to insert earbuds. After rolling for several miles Tim Buckley's "Buzzin Fly" started. omg. I digress... Thanks Chy and Di! Great hospitality and always warm friendship. Can't even begin to put in words how enjoyable your rallies are. Larry and Cathy it was great to see you both! Too bad I missed Saturday's feast!

Happy Birthday Pete, Missed you at Chy & Di,s, you didn't stop in the morning like every other year. Got home at 9 pm. 11 hours by Jeep. Didn't put many miles on the bike but round trip for the jeep was 1650 miles. Thank you Di & Chy for the best Southern Hospitality anyone could receive. It was great seeing everyone again and great to meet some new memebers too. Thanks to Chy's magic touch I did get to ride some great GA Mountain roads. Now I'm back to the flat lands Looking forward to next year!Start the countdown!!! Steve_Sixmil

I hated that I had to "hit & run" on Friday and I couldn't stay to observe the misbehavin' and such. On the other hand the Harley sold the next day so I'm back to an all Triumph garage and there's a lot to be said for that...now to get my hands on a modern Tiger...

Diamond is chomping at the bit to see the pics for this yr as she could not be there and she is already tired of hearing me talk about it hahahahahaha i miss everyone and the rideing already so cant wait till next yr. i am sure we all wish John a speedy recovery!!!! so untill next yr

Donny and I made it home about 4:30. A little soggy and ahead of the tornadoes headed this way. Thanks again Chy and Di for your hospitality. Thanks to Larry and Mrs. Shepard. So that's why I was feeling a buz. I thought the cake was just blackberry cake. It was a great spread. Thanks to all that contributed. The Smith House cannot match the deserts that were sampled. Can't wait to do GA again. I know that so called wreck Big Poppy had was just an excuse to get a new bike. Jeez John, there must be an easier way. I hope you recover and get back on the saddle real soon. Your son said you are definitely getting a T-bird. Later... all.

Oh, I was right behind the cage that cut in between us. Followed you all the way to the split and waved bye when I turned left to head home. It's all good, we can hook up later for another one of those small group rides.

Hey guys ... Had to get right back to work today so I haven't had time to pull my photos off the camera and get them all cropped up and such. In the mean time I just thought I'd post the group shot. Hopefully I'll have all the pics I took zipped up and posted for you to download in the next day or so.

I rolled into Houston from Livingston about 10:00 Sunday night. Round trip from my driveway and back, 2418 miles.
I have yet to download my camera, but have enjoyed the pics posted so far.
Next year can't come soon enough. Maybe I'll see some of you before then.

Saturday May 1, 2010 7:57am roll out Kennedy Space Center Monday May 3rd Pole Barn Magic Wednesday May 5th The Parker Syndrome Thursday May 6th Cherohala Warmth Having split on Friday morning, I rolled rural roads to Roanoke Virginia. Next Day rode to Silver Spring MD. For mert and Keith Ever ride up a mountain dirt road on reserve for 3 miles, stop and look at the gps and it tells you 14 miles to US19E, turn around then two days later google it and learn the road turned to pavement had you rolled another 2.5 miles? grrr. If you ever roll NC 197 the end of dirt is only 6 miles or so...grrr Always wanted to check out Fox Creek Leathers. Too bad they were closed! NC VA State Line Roanoke VA weirdness Vera Lynn on the Appalachian Trail. Note the slashes between her speedo and left mirror. Forever and a day US 301 relic

I AM HOME - SAFELY. I headed south in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee after Wayne, Charlie, Donnie, Paul & I enjoyed hog callin' at Davie Crockett State Park Restaurant. 33 miles from home, and it only took me 8 days - man, I can cover some ground. I can't imagine where the last week went. Maybe I had a trash attack.
