Hi all, Happy new year to everyone.

The last couple of days I've been getting my bike ready for my trip up north which I do twice a year and thought you'd like a few pics of some of the accessories I put on which were Christmas Presents. Btw, for those of us in Aus, Eddy (FES) really looks after us OS blokes so if you were considering anything online, I couldn't recommend a better bloke.

Anyway here's what I've done:

Rivco Floor boards:

Rear peg hangers from Derek (delafoite fm Ireland)

Chrome Clutch Cable holder:

A new globe for inside the recently new 7" insert from Narva. Excellent quality and it actually works. Unlike the stock piece of junk.

A side stand insert to stop me finding my bike having a sleep on the ground some morning when away.

I put in the intiminators

And finally, the stebel horn kit with the wiring from Eddy. Made the whole thing an easy way to go and also allowed me to keep the stock horn in place and still working.

And for the finale, here's a vid of the stebels in action. Just be careful. You might need to get some hearing protection now before opening this link LOL

Cheers
Staffo

Staffo,
You didn't mention the Ricor stickers on your battery. Do they help with handling, power or both? Did you re-jet? What kind of oil did you switch to?

Hey Staffo.

Nice improvements. Where did you get the Narva headlamp insert? Autobarn? My crappy stock one has broken where the bulb clips on. I have a warranty claim in with Triumph, but the replacement will be the same crap. I might as well put a better quality reflector in there.

Cheers, Richard

Well mate santa was good to you. You must have been a very good boy. Hope you have a great new year. If I knew how to post photos I would put some of my bike up with the new screen from Eddy.

Gidday boys, firstly to answer some questions. For the intiminators I used 5 wt oil. Believe it or not I'm still yet to try them out but if I don't get a chance tmw due to forecasted showers, Monday isn't far away. I also
did rejet. I forgot I ordered 140 mains from Eddy so I put them in as well as a shim on the needles. Kept the 42 pilots as is and speedie is running well. She seems to be pulling harder than before and my bum dyno is not too bad an indicator. When I get back I'm going to experiment with the tune's restrictors out and 145 mains, thruxton needles and will see if the 42 pilots need changing or not.

As far as the Narva insert, I got it from Repco for about $70 or so. Excellent quality which has even made me reconsider spotties, it works so well. In saying that I would love a set of some small but powerful ones that are now available but don't take up too much space. It's just a personal taste thing.

Btw, great to see you John (rodeo) finally got on here at last

I hope the wait was worthwhile.

Cheers

No kiddin'. The fat man in the red suit left you a whole bunch of goodies. Lookin' good.

I've got a Stelbel on my bike too & love it. When you lay on that bad boy, people take notice! Lemme tell ya', the drunk passed out in my living room after last nite's party came bolt upright in the recliner when I cranked up my speakers & clicked yer link!

Have a great ride Monday.

You got me thinking about the Ricor Intiminators. Ride report on those when you roll back home eh? Happy New Year!

Ya know Stacka, sometimes I think we're having waaaaay to much fun... like kinda sorta being disproportional to everyone else (ie. non-TA riders). Then I go back for more!!

Enjoy your newly accessorized ride in this here great and wonderful NEW YEAR!!

First to Thommo,

That's brilliant. I'm glad I could be of some assistance. Also, it proved the link worked alright cos I wasn't totally sure.

To Keith, yes mate we are doing alright in the big city aren't we. I have to admit though I must have some sort of condition when it comes to my bike. Maybe it's a slight addiction I'm not sure and we all needs good interests anyway. It's just that this one costs a bomb. Woops , I hope this keyword isn't picked up by our intelligence agencies. If it is, guys and girls, check out my past. I used to have a top secret clearance in signals intelligence so it's alright.

Mind you, we've moved on just a bit from morse code haven't we Why do you think I can type so much amongst other things? Enough said or I'll be off to Guantanomo.

Jim, I will be doing a report when I get back and I'm hoping it will be as positive as the ones that have come through so far. They will also be getting a pretty good workout too cos I plan on using the back country roads as much as practical. For instance here's what I'm thinking will be how I'll get to my destination and btw, I'll be sharing my 1st days leg with a bike riding buddy where we ride some good miles together cos we both understand it's literally the journey (ride) and not the destination.

Proposed Route

So by using these back country roads, I should get a really good understanding of whether these iniminators actually make the difference worth the cost etc. Stay tunes my fellow enthusiasts

Hi Frank, I'll probably start leaving about the 14th or 15th so I can catch up with an old school buddy at Woy Woy on the weekend. Besides that I don't want to overstretch my leave pass lol. It'd be great to get a few of us together or whatever, I'm open to suggestions. So your on Bribie too hey? Great. We should be able to at least meet up to say gidday and compare bikes?

I'd rather be a New Zealander...

Anecdote: My boss is from New Zealand and when she first became my boss I had to ask her if "Kiwi" was derogatory or not. Thankfully not.

Several years ago I researched jobs in NZ. I don't think I met the criteria: my skills weren't desirable enough and I'm too fat. Yes, they do discriminate. So, F the hobbits, I say.

Torrential rain!!! Oh dear ... I wonder if he will have revised his opinion of the new Metzlers in the wet?

Benny says Staffo's due to arrive tomorrow the 7th (check out this thread) - so I'm guessing that Benny's heard from him today and that he's OK.

Hi guys. Arrived on Thursday (the regulator went on me at Tamworth and had to have it replaced) and have been catching up with my daughter and son.

I did text Benny about the possibility of a ride some time this week but I suspect the weekend will be the best time for you guys and depending on the weather I might be leaving on Friday. Looking at the forecast (not that you can believe it) it's saying there's going to be heavy rain on the Pacific Highway along the Central Coast. So I might stay here longer if when Friday comes along that's in fact what's the go. I don't have to start heading back on Friday but wanted to catch up with a mate at Woy Woy on Sat night.

So I've got to play it by ear really.

Was anyone thinking of a ride during the week or even just a meet and greet so we can say gidday and have a look at other bikes like our own. Any ideas. I understand too if everyone's working but just throwing it out there that's all.

Hi Chris, I think I got lucky with the rain. I could see it everywhere I went though and even had to cross a causeway between Gunnedah and Tamworth with a few inches covering the road but other than that only a few showers really.

I did change my ride though cos 1) I had the regulator go on me at Gunnedah and had to go through Tamworth to find a Triumph Dealer to fix it. But before I couldn't start my bike, a bloke at the takeway joint said going via Manilla (north of Gunnedah) could have been a problem cos of low lying causeways blocking off the road.

So I said to him I didn't have a snorkel on my bike and would change my planned route. Then I said seeya and went to start the bike and click click click of the solenoid wasn't the sound I was after. The battery was flat cos the regulator wasn't allowing the alternator to charge it.

Ended up costing me a day in time to get the part shipped overnight from Gosford and then put on. It's not even a genuine Triumph regulator / rectifier or whatever it's called. That's probably a good thing though LOL.

Going strong now though my speedie. Sh#t happens.
