I committed to converting my father's old 78s to MP3/CDs. I thought he had 20 or so - they gave me this big box full!

Good project you got there. I converted some old reel to reel tapes of my mother and the choirs she sang in back in the late 50's to mid 60s. It took some time but in the end the family has a CD with Mom's voice (she sang like an angel). It was a Christmas gift to Mom and family a few years back.
Live to love, love to live.

I have probably close to 100 old 78s still in the bottom half of the old victrola I inherited. The victrola is cosmeticly rough but works fine. I have never even look through the 78s to see what's in there. Might have to take a peek one day.

Rock Chaulk! Actually it wasn't too cold to ride today, I did. But then I didn't have as important things to do as you. What kind of music did your dad love, on those 78s. Was he a rocker or a mod?

So far I've come across a bunch of Swing & Sway with Sammy Kaye, Guy Lombardo, Tony Martin, Doris Day, Bing Crosby, Sons of the Pioneers, Arkie Shibley & The Mountain Dew Boys, among others.
I guess it wasn't that cold yesterday, but I didn't need to go anywhere so I didn't. The only time I left the house all day was to bring in the paper.
