Oh great. Another reminder how cold it is and how riding season is over for another 4 months in the northern hemisphere and I have to "winterize" my bike. I can also hear those southners keyboards typing how nice its to be riding in 20+ degree weather while we cant. I can hardly wait for global warming.

16" - 20" of the white stuff hitting MD/VA today. Some areas getting up to 24". That's a major storm for this area. I put Stabil in my tank last Monday, might be a while before I get out.

The road crews in this area have made a curious switch in treating the roads, that might be positive for motorcyclists. Instead of spreading salt/gravel on the roads as they've done for years, this year most are putting down a brine spray instead. They pre-treat before the storm starts and other than making the roads white, there isn't any slippery grit/gravel residue. Typically in the Spring, it would take weeks of rain to get all the debris off the road and great care was needed, particularly on slower/rural roads.

Maryland is also testing some kind of beet juice concoction. Who knows what that does to chrome!

I know I will capture my weather report and send it to you. You delete your weather report as not relevant. You play the one I sent you a lot. It will be generally accepted as correct and voila! it will get warm.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Living in Pennsylvania, I can tell you that the brine solution is brutal on cars and trucks especially on brake lines and fuel lines. It might clear roads a little faster but the damage it does is ridiculous.

They have been putting that brine down on the roads for years here. In my area it isn't instead of but in addition to the regular stuff. They treat with brine first to try and prevent the ice from taking hold at all then once snow hits they start to spread the rest of cinders and salt.
