Well, what exactly did you expect, FT??? I mean, surely you know the movie going public has never spent their hard earned bucks on the more "sophisticated fare" such as the "poor" Mr.Farrell seems to have concentrated his vast talents upon all these many years! Uh huh! "Maybe" he should consider lowering his standards a bit and start doing, say, slapstick, or "maybe" consider taking roles where it might call upon him to repeatedly play, say, more egocentric characters who aren't all that quick on the ol' uptake in some of the roles he choses to take from now on! (yep, you see, I'm thinkin' here that he should stay away from all those "Noel Coward-esque drawing room comedies" for which he's noted, if ya ask me!!!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

And folks wonder why I left Los Angeles!

As my mother used to say about people she really didn't care for "A little bit of Will Ferrell goes a long way."
He plays the same character in every movie. Unfortunately it's not a very funny or appealing character.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

WELL Cindy! I've NEVER been soooo insul......Oh, wait a minute. Maybe you meant you left L.A. because of goofballs like Will Ferrell, and NOT because of goofballs like ME, huh?!
(well, if THAT'S the case then...never mind)

I wonder if Hollywood pays in IOUs like Sacramento? That would make a big difference....

I have never paid to see Will Ferrel. The last thing I saw him on was Bear Grills show.He was a blithering idiot there as well except it was blatantly obvious how dull he really is.

I live in Africa, and I "assume" that all Will ferrell type movies are made for the American diet, and that all Americans enoy that kind of thing! I take much comfort that you guys are more sophisticated than the masses! Your level of sophistication is further demonstrated by the fact that you ride Triumphs, and the high level of technical expertise refelcted in the numerous postings! Please accept my compliments!

Stranger than Fiction is the only movie he has made that wasn't completely over the top. He actually did some acting in it.

He also did voices in the Oblongs, only other thing I can think of that I liked by him. There were some funny bits in Step Brothers but over all bad movie.

Stranger Than Fiction is not only the only Will Ferrell movie that I like, but is also one of my favorite movies of the past five years. I went to see it and subsequently went back to the movies twice more taking groups to see it.
Along the same vein, the only Jim Carrey movie I liked was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
