Hi Folks. I've just ordered all the pieces for the summer screen, excluding the screen itself. I will get a Clearview screen. So, for those that don't want to buy the kit, here are the parts that you need for a Speedmaster. I imagine the America would be the same, but not sure if the signal light relocation brackets will be needed. Prices are MSRP in CDN dollars.
A9918018 Upper fixing kit $113.46 A9750206 Lower mounting bracket LH $50.18 A9750207 Lower mounting bracket RH $50.18 A9910148 Bolt, M8 X 50 DIN 933 S/S X2 $2.24 X2 3350004-T0301 Locknut, Flanged, M8 X2 $3.04 X2 A9750215 Bracket, Indicator extension X2 $4.52 X2
My dealer was very good at digging this information out for me.

Which clearview screen are you planning to get? Iam looking at the same setup, but can't decide on the 17" or 18"model??

Clearview will make a custom height shield for $30 extra. That's really appealing as you get a factory edge, and a custom height. Failing that you can always cut down a shield. Currently, I'm undecided if I should go custom or get a 17" and cut it down. I have ordered all the hardware, and will make a cardboard shield to check the height. Clearview has instructions how to measure a shield on their website.
As much as I'd like to go with a custom setup, I'm not sure how accurate I can estimate the placement of my template to actually get the proper height. The cutout of the windshield sits about an inch above the headlight.
Where in BC are you located? I'm near Ft. Langley.

I'm in Vancouver. I used a piece of cardbooard approx 17" high and had someone hold it about 1" above top of headlamp and at same angle as forks. I used a steel measuring tape (as a straight edge) and ran it from the top of cardboard to the tip of my nose (as per one of the clearview methods). Based on these measurements, I think the 18" screen would work best for me. Which dealer do you deal with??

Yup, that method of measuring should work. Or use the 50' viewing angle method as described on Clearview's site for a check.
Western Powersports is our dealer in Langley. Been dealing with them since 2006 and they have been exceptional. But we just bought the Triumph. We have a Yamaha as well.
If you're not going to use your bike until spring, you might want to wait until later on to order the shield. Clearview only puts a 6 month warranty on their product.
"Clearview Shields covers all windshield products against defects in the material or workmanship for 6 months from the date of shipment by the original consumer purchaser."

Congratulations on your new machine!
I've noticed that there's a lot of brand new 'old' bikes at the dealers. We just bought our 2007 Speedmaster Oct 30th, and it was brand new. Recently uncrated. If Triumph sales are up approx. 17% over the past year or so, howcome there's all these 'old' bikes still unsold? Just seems a little odd, but it worked out for us!

Well done on the purchase ... I'm guessing you bought the blue and white America that was at BIM? I really love those colours and would have bought the blue and white speedy they had parked next to it this summer if I'd have had the loot.
Please keep us up to date on the screen purchase as well as some photos.

Hi Folks. Just thought I'd report in on this. I just picked up my parts today from my local dealer. Took about three weeks, as promised. All the various parts came in, but the Windshield Fixing Kit (part # A9918018) is incomplete The two top yoke brackets did not come with the kit. So, we'll have to deal with this next week. Luckily I don't need this right away. H.

Thx, Don. I have ordered the two top yoke brackets yesterday. Triumph should update their parts list if they don't want to include these two brackets in the Fixing Kit. My dealer is now aware of this.

Hah. I don't know. My wife ordered them, and they didn't take a deposit on the order. I'm expecting something in the $12 CDN EACH range. I will post the price when I get them... probably in January.

If you look closely at the photo below, you can see how I used the same chrome yoke bracket to mount the relocated blinkers. Only had to enlarge the mounting hole a small bit.

I ordered all the parts for the Roadster windshield and I want to order the Clearview for the Roadster brackets. However, my dealer says that the horizontal and vertical brackets are not available separately but are part of the windshield itself. I see that many people have the full Roadster kit with the horizontal and vertical brackets. Question is, where did you get just the brackets? Does anybody have Triumph part numbers? The Clearview website shows these brackets with their Roadster screen.
Thanks in advance. Rick

You can only get the chrome strips with the Roadster windshield. I had the complete Roadster setup and got the Clearview screen and transferred the pieces over. I say have some pieces fabricated out of stainless, it's only a couple of simple bends and a few holes, and have them polished. Probably won't cost too much. Clearview will also make a screen without the holes for the strips, just the 4 for mounting hardware if you decide to go without. Or, look on ebay for a screen with the hardware that got damaged in a wreck, I see them there sometimes.

Thanks for the response. Will the Clearview for the Roadster still be stable without those strips? Thanks, Rick

I don't remember who it was that ordered theirs for without strips, but they liked it and the screen is stout so it shouldn't be a problem. Those are mostly cosmetic anyway, I don't think they offer any structural support.

That would probably be me. Stability is a non issue when you don't use the the strips.

thanks for these numbers, were a lifesaver for replacing a few bolts
just out of interest
A9910148 Bolt, M8 X 50 DIN 933 S/S X2 $2.24 X2 3350004-T0301 Locknut, Flanged, M8 X2 $3.04 X2
got these for the lower brackets as i needed to replace them after stripping them (was a bit too heavy handed with the wrong sized spanner ) but now i need the bolt that fixes the screen to the brackets, you know the screw with the chrome plate between the screw head and the screen. Do you have a part number for that?
been on a few websites and can't find pictures of the items that relate to the product numbers. Or would I have to buy these screws as part of another item, for instance the upper fixing kit? in which case I'll improvise
Thanks

Hi. I have checked the parts break down for the screen, and they don't have those screws listed as a separate item. They bundle those in with the Upper Fixing Kit. The lower screws are also longer than the upper screws. If I'm understanding you correctly, these are the phillips screws that attach the screen to the brackets. All those bits, including the rubber bushings are not listed separately on the parts list I have. Are you close to a Triumph dealer? The dealer might have a more detailed breakdown available. I'll try and upload the parts list I have later today. It has a drawing with it and shows the break down of the parts. My main computer has decided not to boot today, so it might be a while to get that running I think if you can find a local source for the screws you might be better off. I'm not 100% sure, but I think they are stainless steel, and are metric. H.

yeah the philips screws for fixing the screen to the bracket is what i'm after.
tried the dealer route once before and although i managed to sneak a look at the catalogue i did get it for long enough to see if they came seperately, and the dealer reckoned i'd have to buy both sets of screws with the mounting brackets to the tune of 60 quid - i only want a screw and the plate on the front!
thanks for your help mate - looks like i'll be looking at alternatives. at thet moment a cable tie is sufficing lol - not ideal for the look of the bike though

Can't help you with the Plate thingy, but I could quite possibly come up with some original bolts for the screen. I replaced some of mine with longer SS bolts that I picked up at the local nut and bolt shop. Those Star Washers Hyates mentioned would work if you still have the rubber grommets. Let me know.

I had one of those a few years back, I'll have to say it's one of the goofiest arrangements I've seen. Sold it and purchased a Memphis. On and off in 45 seconds.

I have one of these kits new in the package if anyone is looking for it:
A9918018 Upper fixing kit $113.46 Bike Bandit $78.79
$50 shipping included takes it away. I think I have the bottom brackets to now that I know what they look like. Send me a PM.
I have a new graphite grey flyscreen too. No hardware. Same deal.

Correction:
I dug out the Upper Fixing kit (A9918018) and the lower brackets are included in it.
I do, however, have an addition set of the lower backets as well.
Thanks, SD

To complete the parts list at the opening of this thread (since I can't edit my post), the following pieces are needed for the indicator relocation brackets that are used on Speedmasters.
I used stainless steel fasteners from my local marine store (prices in CDN $):
hex nut M6 X2 ($1.56) lock washer M6 X2 ($0.44) bolt M6 X 16 X2 ($1.52) Flat washer M6 X2 ($0.68)
And, as Shutterbug has mentioned, the two top yoke brackets are also required as they don't come with the upper fixing kit.

I just got my 18" clearview screen in today. It's way to big for me. I'm only 5'7 so my eyes sit below the windshield which I don't like. Would I be able to ship it back and have them cut 1.5 inches off? If not, what would be a good method of shaving off an inch or so?

Hey REDHELMET, er David... don't send it back. If you have a jig saw you can cut it yourself by using masking tape along the cut line or, if you are not tooled up, just take it down to any window shop... you know, the guys that do windows for cars and houses and such. A glass shop, yeah that's it! They can cut it down for you.

I second that. I have cut my wife's down for her without issue. Clearview has a procedure for measuring the correct height on their website.
It is easy to do with a jigsaw. I used lots of green masking tape on both sides to eliminate splintering, and a my orbital sander to polish up the edges, followed by a wipe on the edge ONLY with paint thinner.
If you want more detailed instructions, let me know. You can always get a glass shop to cut it down for you as well.

Thanks for the info guys. I,m going to go ahead and take a jig saw to it this weekend. Hyates, I saw a picture of your wife's windshield that you cut down. I only hope I can make mine look that good.

Redhelmet... some words of caution. nice sharp blade windshield is plexiglass. Have a friend support it while you cut it. Plexi does have a tendency to break. Not meaning to scare you, but be cautious. Go steady and smooth. use masking tape (painter's tape) on BOTH sides. This will prevent chipping. I peeled back the Clearview protective plastic just enough to apply the masking tape on the plexi surface. Get the 2" wide tape and make your mark on the tape using a nice fine point Sharpie. use a medium to high speed for the blade. Use a blade that is for wood and plastics cut a bit 'proud' of the line by a 1/6" or so. Sand down to nice bevel using oribital sander with 100 grit and go finer if you like finish cut with MEK or paint thinner. DO NOT get on glass surface... just use a cloth on the cut edge ONLY. TA DA Thanks for the compliment. The sander is your friend as it can smooth out any bumps in your cut. Good luck! H.

Again, thanks for the info. I followed your instructions this morning and took it out for a test ride. I had the 18" screen and cut it down to 16.5". It worked out perfectly.

I'm 6' and the 17" Clearview (Summer Screen) is just tall enough for me. No doubt, the 18" was too tall. Be sure you are looking over the top at anything on the ground 50' or more from the bike.
I feel the best way to measure is to sit on the bike in riding position and lay a yardstick level across the top of the shield. Have someone else eyeball "level". It should hit between your mouth and the tip of your nose, ideally.
