Help please Guys, the search engine is a little like chinese arithmatic sometimes. I've tried but cant find it. Any one got any ideas how I can make a brace or where I can buy one. People have mentioned Brent but its not listed. I know it can be done with cable ties but I'd prefer a nice black billet number. Any help or links would be appeciated. Thanks Chris
All the best
Chris

why waste your money, you can use a turn buckle from the hardware store or if you want fancy you can use a stainless turn buckle from a boating supply place and that would be better quality and cheaper than the carb brace that's just chromed.

Actually they're called "spherical rod ends". Heim is a manufacturer that designed the commonly used version we have today.

I started out with a homemade strap made from sheetmetal, bolted to the engine brace on one end and an insulated p-clamp on the other, around the carb top cross brace. Rattlecanned black. "Upgraded" to the heim joint style (probably from Brent), and left it silver. Both versions worked fine (mostly, see below). Brent's looks better. Didn't feel like sourcing the heim joints and coupling nut myself. Sometimes it's just easier to order what you want and get it over with.
I don't have pictures of my homemade bracket (like most things I make, it looked like crap but worked -- for a while anyway) but I bet it's in a box somewhere in my garage. IIRC, I replaced it because there was no adjustment designed into my bracket and the p-clamp allowed too much play, and therefore, vibration. Eventually the carb intake boots cracked from the vibration and had to be replaced.
