Try Pinwall cycles on ebay. Lots of good salvage parts for Americas and Speedmasters. Also, some members here may have spare ignition parts they can part with. How about it guys, anyone got a spare coil for gary?

I have the Nology coils. I love them. I have much better throttle response and the butt dyno says more power too. I bought mine from NewSpeedmaster.com.

WOW, I now have a rocket ship. idle is far superior, had to lower after install. Throttle response is much quicker, more seat of the pants acceleration. oh i got the iridiums also.
far better then stock ever was. now back to jetting.

Did you also get the high performance spark plug wires? They will help too.

no i wanted to verify coil was issue, i will be getting this week. here is readings from a new triumph coil at dealership
primary .6 ohm
secondary 2.7 k. ohm
stock wires are 5 k. ohm
my coils were .6 1.3k, .6 .45k they were both going bad and i suspect for a while.
the nology new is
primary .6 ohm
secondary 8 k.ohm FYI

i would say to anyone replace stock with nology.

Verifying one thing at a time is so understated. When troubleshooting Vera Lynn’s idle issue, I was reminded of a Johnny Cash song.

Quote:

first, thanks for the readings. I am going to the garage to take some readings on my bad oem coil.

second, replace for nology? I have 78,693 miles on Vera Lynn and 53,651 miles on Cinnamon Girl. With one coil failure. (granted the beasterd started failing three years ago exhibiting systems more on the line of a dirty idle circuit,) can't see spending bucks when tires and chain kits are frequent callers.

And regards to the performance, good on ya. If mine run, that, is performance!

Phil (bonnyusa) had a nology fail. Also there has been some talk about the ground for these nology coils. Should you lose one or two, watch out. silicon may undergo a startling metamorphosis.
