8:35 PM October 31st 2009. 32 degrees F. Pitch dark, clouds and a little moon. Jeans, jacket and a 12 mile ride. Two months ago, insanity. Tonight? A pleasant thing.

I'll be out on the road tomorrow morning. Expected to be in the mid 70's and crisp clear. Guess I'll have to ride twice as far for those who can't. Will be where I'm at every weekend - in the Texas Hill Country.

I hear ya Eddy. My girl's put away. We've already had snow and sub-freezing temps yet oddly enough today it got up to 18 degrees C (64 F). Woulda been a nice day to go for a ride!!

15 Degrees C in the north east of Scotland bright and sunny.
Got out for a quick 50 mile run to-day, think that will be the last one of the season. Getting ready to put the bike away over the winter.

It was not quite so cold, but I rode to a Halloween party last
night. It was 50 degrees and raining and I wore my slacks,
T-shirt and my club vest with a half helmet. I admit that the
rain did sting the face a bit.
As a side note, would anyone know why rain would have a
sweet taste? I've never noticed a taste before and had to
wonder if I was getting some pollution in the mix.

It must be citric acid rain.

74 degrees and just beautiful here, and me with no wheels. Donny if you went riding today, I am going to kick your harley #*$.

Why that is the secretion of the rare African cloud bug. They drift up into the clouds from the Sahara dessert and they grab onto the clouds with little cloud hooks and hold on cross the Atlantic while drifting over warmer places in America and urinate on motorcyclist while it rains as they pass by. Actually quite tasty. Better than the stuff that comes off motor homes.

Did you say something Rev I was too busy looking at those luscious Halloween girls. Thankyou. Now what do you want

Any what about you Kaiser, you sneaky little little man. I've got no idea how big you are but I wouldn't mind doing a fitting with one of those buxom babes with "my size"

And that rubbish about them being a couple, yeah right, they haven't come across (I could but I won't say something to that) staffo yet. Now step aside amateurs and watch the skill and finesse of his excellency.

Btw, it's 30 deg cel (86F for planet america ) and while it's just a little bit muggy, my three day ride starting as of Friday it's predicted the temp should be in the mid 20's (77F).

I don't expect too much snow shovelling is my point if you missed it.

I'm soooo sorry , my dear fellows but maybe you can look at the bright side? I can't think of any at the moment unfortunatley but leave it with me will you?

Maybe I will think of you all on friday. Poor darlings.

Seriously though, Oh that's right, no riding for 6 months is serious. OOOps

It is cold, but no rain - Since it always warmer when I get out of work, I ride - I try to get a good after work ride in to help me unwind!

I'm the same, as long as it's not pis#ing down I'll ride to work. Helps me keep going to work I reckon.

Riding home though is just the best, particularly after last night shift where I leave work at 8am and go back to work again 4 days later.

Being a firie is one job you can do these days from the day you start to the day you retire and still love it. Riding home on days off is still brilliant though

Yah, went out today to work. It was 52 and sunny on Cape Cod, by 3 the temp was down and was raining.
No worries, just put on the rainsuit.

Still better than motoring in the truck.

I finally got to ride the America yesterday, 62 degrees and cloudy. No big deal, except it is the first time I've been able to ride for nearly a month, due to illness. Man, that felt good!!!

Glad to hear you are back on two wheels. A flat and no job to provide
money to fix it kept me off mine for six weeks. It about sent me into
a depression every time I passed someone else on their scoot.

Parked mine also. Jacked up for the winter at my chums garage he rents to people. I'm sharing space with a black 2010 Camaro RS, a red 2010 Camaro SS, an orange 1969 Camaro Z28, and a Prowler.

I think my Triumph sets the stage for this group.

I'm fortunate to live in a part of the US that doesn't have strong winters and if
we see snow twice in a year, or one that sticks to the ground for more than
a few days it is cause for discussion. So, when I say that I had to park mine
for six weeks it means that it was the longest time my bike sat idle since I
started riding.

I found it quite traumatic.

Ok, seriously... raise your hands "who has pulled all the cars out of the garage during the dead of winter and riden your bike around in little circles and figure eights?"

I hate this time of year. Leaves dropping, temps dropping, snow dropping, sand dropping, tears dropping. Totally depressing. Eddy started this thread with him going for a ride. *&&^%#(^#$@

Keith, maybe you could write a song about it?

I have, though I don't go in figure eights but go slowly down the dirt road for a mile and come back again! Coldest I did this was 22 degrees! Really, it is an illness.

Well there is a song in all of this but not sure if its' a sad song per se. I'm really enjoying the fall season this year and yeah I miss riding... a lot, but now I get to tinker with my bike in ways I just can't do during summer.

Yeah, gonna fire up the wood stove over in buddy's garage... get the temp up to a nice cozy heat, and do a little makeover work on my girl.
