What do the Main and Pilot Jet carb circuits do? In other words, are they for idle or mid-range quality or for higher rpm tuning? What do the Pilot Shims do? Once I understand each carb circuit, I will be able to tune the carbs for best performance. Also, where is the knockout located on the newer carbs? I dont want to knock out the wrong plug and my 2005 carbs have a few.

How cool is that. Almost like a car's carb with different names for the circuits. Thanks Moe
