A good motorcycling friend of mine, Colin Barlow is currently being treated by The Royal Marsden hospital for GIST (gastrointestinal stromal tumor) which is one of the rarer forms of cancer and We are planning a sponsored motorcycle ride to each of the 10 hospitals treating his condition within 5 days starting on Monday 23rd November 2009 to raise both awareness & funds for their Cancer Appeal So if anyone sees my black 990 Adventure & a old battered BMW RT65 with "Got the GIST? stickers plastered all over, then give us a wave or toot or even ride along with us for a bit. Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all for your support & donations It really touched both Colin & I & just goes to prove my theory that as bikers we are just one big family. Thanks again

Call me. If you're passing this way, you know there is room here for a stay over. Wendy and I will be without the kids that week and are planning a couple of days in the north east but nothing is booked yet so feel free to use us as a stop over if it fits with your schedule and we can help. Which hospital are you visiting in Birmingahm? Wendy has a contact at City Hospital (a project co-ordinator) who would be able to give you some publicity. Whatever happens, we'll be chipping in and best wishes for your trip buddy.

I work at the Royal Brompton hospital and the Royal Marsden in the Intensive care. They are right next to each other.
I am working a long day on the 23rd but ill come and see you for your send off!

Well i hope the weather improves for you before monday martyn, a dinghy with a big sail would be appropriate at the moment. hope you and colin have a good trip.
