Uh yes, yes I am ! I was hooked as a youngster and have been a fan all these years. You're probably wondering why a boy from the south is a NY fan. I've been asked that on a few ocassions. When I was a kid living in the south we did not have the Braves,Marlins, Rays-Devil Rays- Sunrays etc, etc. I'm also a 30 year Seattle Seahawks fan--- go figure

Well John, I know there's a lot of 'em out there alright...however, seein' as how the Angels have seemed to have "had the Yankees' number" for the past half a decade or so, I DO have to admit that I kind'a feel sorry for 'em in a way!
(GO ANGELS!!!)

Wow Dave! I gotta say you seem to have taken what Tony said about those Yankees o' yours to heart there, dude!!!
But, as I SAID above, and as YOU probably KNOW, the Angels seem to have that bunch of New York millionaires' number for quite some time now, ya know.
And soooo, after the Angels beat those Yankees AGAIN and win the American League Pennant this year, I'd like to suggest to you at this time that you learn the lyrics of a old(I think Linda Ronstadt) song AND get ready to start singing it in about two week's time from now....AND, it goes like THIS....
"Silver threads and golden needles can not mend this heart of mine..."!!!

I'm pretty sure it's a free market place. Obviously some owners would rather squeeze the fans for every drop to put a sub par product on the field. George and the boys got some deep pockets, what can I say. Yankees 201 million payroll-- 26 World Series Titles Marlins 36 million payroll Best bang for the buck--Twins at 65 million.

Yes the Angles do seem to have their number but as the old saying goes that's why we play the game. We shall see! I believe the series split 5-5 in regular season play. Should be a dandy ALCS.

Dave!!! DAVE!!! You ain't gonna believe this, but I SWEAR it's TRUE!!!! Right after you had me rollin' with laughter with your snappy "Blew BY you" comeback here, I left to take my dog "Moose" to the local dog park, from where we've just returned. Now dig THIS!!! On the way there while I was still chucklin' to myself about that comeback o' yours, I had the radio in the Silverado turned to an Oldies station, and the third or fourth song they played was a Linda Ronstadt song, WHICH I then started REALLY chucklin' to myself about what a coincidence that was. But THEN it suddenly hit me. The song they were playin' would have been the PERFECT comeback YOUR comeback! Yep, it was her cover of Buddy Holly's "That'll Be the Day"!!! (at first I was kind'a mad at myself for not thinking of that earlier , but then I just started laughing even more!!!)

Sorry I haven't replied earlier to your post here Mike, but I guess I was still laughin' so hard at Dave's clever reply to mine that I haven't had a chance to get back to ya yet.
Yep Mike, you're sure right in your above assessments, alright. Yep! As you point out, the old sayin', "That's why they play the game", is timeless in its truth!

Good question there, ol' buddy!
Well Wade, first, I DON'T think it was Jim Bouton who wrote one of the best baseball-themed books ever written, "Ball Four". But now that I think about this, I'm not sure IF there was EVER a book written about baseball with that title!!!
Ah BUT, I DO think there was an old Doo Wop(and ahhh, please no Italian-American jokes here if you will, sir!!! )recording performed by a one-hit-wonder group named The Monotones in the late 1950s with that title!!!
(does THAT answer your question here, dude???)

First John, go wash your mouth out with soap for even using that kind of language here! Second, nope, since the Red Sox and Rockies are out of the running, baseball season is officially over at the Yount household. Yankees, GOD, after living for 2 1/2 years in this end of Connecticut and only being about 5 miles from the NY line (this end of the state is sadly and firmly Yankees turf),
I can't stand to hear the word "Yankers", let alone cheer for the scum sucking, barf blowing, bilge rats of the Bronx. Geez, just thinking about rooting for them makes me want to wash my head out with bourbon!!!!
So, in a word John, NO!

I have been a NY fan all my life. so... that's a lot of games.and the last I looked the Angels did not seem to "have the Yankees number" in fact just the opposite. I have seen every game this year since the home opener We are having one of the greatest seasons ever!!!
if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.

So Kenny, what are you lookin' AT, dude? The New York Post??? One should NEVER really believe what THAT rag says, ya know!
You see, in FACT the Angels and Yankees have split their regular season games, 5-5. However, THAT'S including that one "make up" game loss the bone-tired Halos endured after they had to fly into the Big Apple, AND after playing 12 road games in 12 days to various teams, to play those rested and ready Yanks o' yours that one day recently! And the Yanks barely won THAT game!!!
(and so, here's a little suggestion for ya...From now on start springin' for the N.Y.Times, as at least THAT rag is noted for bein' just a little more accurate with the facts than that other rag The Post is, dude...but just barely, mind ya!!!)

Now, not to be misconstrued (a person ought to use "misconstrue once a week) as anti-$$Yankee$$ sediment, I was just curious about their support among vertical twin(s) owners. Granted they do have a "murderers row" lineup.
But then I am still waiting for the Milwaukee Braves to make a post season appearance.

Yep John. Absolutely! In fact, my friend Murphy's doctor put him on that stuff immediately after they found all that blockage in his correlaries!!!

Sorry John, but that AIN'T gonna happen for a long time! Nope! Well, NOT at least until they start keepin' their bullpen players from visiting the concession stands when the coaches aren't lookin'...ESPECALLY their latest closer, that lush, Mel Famey, the dude who keeps walking in their opponents' winning run!!!
Yep! THAT situation has gotten so bad that it's become common knowledge by ALL the other teams as to why those Braves keep blowin' leads and keep losin' their games at the end.
Yep! When asked during post game interviews about their comeback wins, the opposing players will usually just reply to the sportswriters..."I suppose our team can all just thank 'the beer that made Mel Famey walk us'!"!!!!
(oh MAN how I love it whenever somebody sets me up for a classic joke that's older than I AM and that I can use around here!!!...THANKS John!!!)
