Hi all! Before I bought my America I searched a long time on the Web to find some web site in french language in order to see what owners say about the America, or to find pics or tips .. I didn't find one, that was because I came here at newbonnevilleamerica.com But a lot of french people do not read/write english easily (of course I don't) and it's hard for us to particpate to yours threads. You can find some french forums about triumph motorcycles but they all talk about speed triple, daytona, tiger and so on... but no one talking about America Finally , I've made a site about America for french people : http://www.triumph-america.comI do not plan to make my site "the best one", I just want to present America to french people and talk about accessories, tips, etc.. I hope that will be useful for frenchies who are looking for informations about the America (Maybe this post seems like advertising, so you can delete it if you think this is) Thank you
I do not read/write english very well. Thank's to be patient.

I'm assuming you're gleaning some technical info from this site?
All I would ask is that you give us some link love and let those French members who DO read/write English about this site, and where possibly some of that information came from.
Good luck!

Hello FriarJohn I don't know what mean exactly "gleaning"... I assume you mean "retrieve technical informations from your site to put on mine". This is not the case. I wrote billets myself. And I always write from where pictures come (others watermarked are mine) and I always put a link to the shop, the mark , or web site I retrieved the information. Each time, I've contacted someone to obtain the permission to use pictures. I did not use their text. It's my own work. (Web is my job, I know the rules) I stopped read the technical part of your site because i do not understand all technical terms you use here. And it's hard (for me) to write or explain in english ... (Even if Dwight thinks my english is good ) I spend half an hour to write this ! But you're right. I omitted to put a link to you. It's done now. (I launched the site two weeks ago, so it's not all complete) Thank you for all. I do not want to take your place, I just want to talk about my bike to french people. I'm not a mechanical any more (I was during 8 years but 29 years ago) or technician, so my web site would be not so complete as yours, and be sure I talk about you in my forum if a guy make a post about technical.
I do not read/write english very well. Thank's to be patient.

More sites about Americas and Speedmasters are always a good idea. Your English is fine. Much better than my French. You have my permission to use anything I have written or any pictures I have posted on your site.

Thanks for the link! Instead of "glean" perhaps "harvest" would be a better word. But as you indicated, it's a moot point.

@FriardJohn Maybe I had not well understood the sense of your phrase (in your first post). Anyway , it's ok for me. I also make a post in my forum for you here : http://www.triumph-america.com/forum/un-forum-us-a-ne-pas-manquer-t13.htmlbasically, that means (translated): Quote:
"It's rarely the use to recommend another forum (in a forum) , but I can say that it's the must.
http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com
It's an US site, thus for those who are familiar with the language of Shakespeare (French joke here !)
It's a gold mine. A very active forum specially dedicated to Triumph America and Speedmaster. If you have questions that do not match answers here (in my forum) , I recommend this site to you. American people have Custom culture, the site is very busy "
Well, by now, the forum counts only 4 users. But I hope it will grow and bring some people to you .

Your French site is very good. As far as translation goes. If you download the "Google" Toolbar, there is a pretty good translator included which converts complete web pages simply by clicking the translate button.. It's not 100% but you can fix any translation errors if you have some knowledge of the language.

Thierry, site Web fantastique mon ami!!

Bonne chance!

YeaaHHH ! Server is Up now ! Well, my provider move the server to a new datacenter, but he did'nt prevent me . (my company hosts the sites of my customers) So monday, I rent a new one quickly (in another company) and began loading some sites. I called the provider at least 80 times !! (every half an hour, really !) . At the end I was not very quiet as you imagine. I sent him about 20 emails . He never calls me or reply to the email to say me what 's happened to the server. And today around 3 PM, he calls and says " Ho, we've just move your server in another datacenter, now here is the new IP "..... What ????? You F%#@n Bas#@rd !! So, my customers call me since saturday morning .. very angry, of course . But I cannot smooth them down... Well, by now their sites are up again , mine too. What a couple of days I spent !
