What would you replace her with? I have learned from experience to never sell a bike, just buy another one..........

Triumph Scrambler Diablo Red & Silver (2014), Arrow Exhaust, FI remapped with TTP #4, 16 tooth sprocket, Triumph Gel Solo seat & Rack, Progressive 440 1" lowered Shocks, SAI & O2 Removal, Airbox Restrictor Plate removed.

I agree. Just add to the stable. You would never forgive yourself.

actually, would that i could, i would (read:will) forgive myself.
ilove Blue; but kind to my body, she is not.
the forward controls are trashing me.
i spend more time in the mid-pegs than i do
stretched out, but that's not enough.

the killer thing is that i had just come
up with a very kewl idea for a vanity plate.

this is not a light hearted decision -- nor
is it a definite do. just thinking out loud
via fingertipclicks.

besides, i thought you never sell a guitar to buy a
motorcycle(cuz i had considered selling the '64 to
buy maxx.)

Yep, Shari. At last count I think we have at least 3 or 4 guys around here who sold their BA or Speedie, and then missed it so much that they eventually went and bought another one.

So, if I were you(which means I'd be a whole lot cuter and a lot better singer than I am...but I digress) I'd heed the wise words of these guys here and maybe consider just adding to your stable whatever bike it is that's been ticklin' your fancy lately, IF it's at all possible!!!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Ahh! So is it some kind of lower back pain that seems to be aggravated whenever you're stretched out on Blue with your feet forward and sittin' on your tailbone???

(that's not a uncommon phenomenon with this kind of seating position, ya know)

Maybe I'm a bit taller but me Americas are great on my back.. but I wear a support if I'm doing long distances.... or more than 45 minutes.

Didn't want to hear this...but had been thinking you'd been quiet lately...

And you'll be back on one... how many guys have sold it to instantly regret it?

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

Some have tried to leave. It's never a pleasant story, involving witness protection and reappearances under government issue pseudonyms.

You know, the new RIII Roadster has its pegs "100 mm back and 20 mm down." Take that for a spin, when it's available!

Technically, yes. But mert never does anything anyway. Doesn't even come to the meetings. She checked out a long time ago.

Because of all that mert has contributed to this site and to the Rallys over the years, in my opinion she is a lifetime member and mod as long as she so desires. Just because you don't respond to every piece of drivel posted, does not mean you are not a valuable member. I ought to know , for I am PES the KING of drivel.

That sounds like a winning solution! It's gonna work for the Rocket Roadster, why not for the America?

You know... I just had to come back to this thread to offer Shari my condolences on having to consider lettin' Blue go. That's a tough call and it might be easier if the rest of us showed a bit of understanding.

However, Dwight obviously felt the need to put himself ahead of the author of this here thread as per quote above. Yet the two members with the most posts AVERAGE only around 188 posts/month while MY average is approximately 234/month!! Now with that said I declare myself King while still remaining sensitive to the origins of this thread.

(I'm going to first stick with the main topic here, and then afterwards challenge that darn Hosers "attempted coup" of my crown here....okay, here goes....)

Yep! Regarding Shari's plight, I think Scottdog and Dave might just have voiced a solution to her back problems.

In the "Accessories" forum, DaemonWulf responded to my re-posting of the pix of my center pegs that he thought there might be a way to attach the controls to them, and advised that during this coming winter he was going to look into some way to move them back and under the rider....

http://www.bonnevilleamerica.com/forums/...e=0&fpart=4

And so, if Shari could wait a while, maybe DaemonWulf might come up with a solution for her within a couple of months.
___________________________________________________________

(and now comes my thwarting of that Canadian's feeble attempt at insurrection.....)

Look Keith, "Averages" don't mean a gosh darn thing EXCEPT for instances where one might wish to decipher the proficiency of batsmen in the sport of baseball, OR to quantify one's ability as a bowler.

And sooooo, when and IF you DO reach the high and somewhat "exalted" total of over TEN THOUSAND posts at this website as I have, then and ONLY then would I even consider meeting you at the palace door and relinguishing this crown that sits heavily upon my weary head!!!

I traded my 04 BA on a 01 BMW-the BA was too rough on my sweetheart-then while I was in Afghanistan she ordered me an 07 BA, cause she knew my heart was broken. Just put some progressives on the BA and sold the BMW a couple of weeks ago. End of story-no more changes.

sayitaintsomertdontdoit!!! I have to admit that the thought of parting with my blue has crossed my mind given the money situation over the last 5 months (wife out of work, struggling with some depression issues, crappy non-biking weather nonstop all summer and on and on!), but always keep coming back to the simple fact that I'd miss her, and just end up longing for another bike. So, if it means beans and weenies and cheap beer for the kids instead of OJ, well, they'll just have to make do....
