Welcome to the site Macca! I've been using Kenda Kruz tires front and rear lately. Previously I tried Metzler Marathons (long lasting but pricey) & IRC Wild Flares (inexpensive but wore out fast). The Kendas are half the price of the Metz, but last just as long. If you want to go fatter, you can go 130/70 on the front.

These Kendas have got my attention. If they provide good traction (I am a conservative rider)they seem perfect. To a certain extent a tire is a tire. Metzlers are the preferred tires and I like mine. I am on my second set. (Lazertec).

From what I hear the Bridgestone Spitfire is a very good tire. Not to be confused with the crappy stock tire your bike came with. The Spitfire is a whole different animal.

Have about 500 miles now on Avon road rider front and Venom rear no complaints at all. I dont think they will last as long as the Metz, but better wet grip.

If anybody in OZ knows a dealer in Queensland where i can get Kenda tyres can you please let me know. Last time I enquired I was told they were not available in Queensland.

Frank this is the NSW stockists but I'd contact them from the same site and see if QLD has a distributor. If you do get around to buying a set, let us know what you think will ya?

Thanks Staffo, I will contact them today.
Don't need them just yet, but after some of the comments I have read I will seriously consider them. If the price is OK.

Frank, fyi I have been through a couple of sets of Metzler Lazertechs but not only are they pricey they didn't last long at all. So I'm now onto the Marathons and again pricey but I'm hoping they last longer. That's why I'm interested in these Kenda tyres for possibly my next set. Depending on others results that is

After some pondering I went for the Avon Roadrider over the Metzler Lazertec, WOW what a difference from the factory Bridgestone, my girl wants to go around corners as soon as you turn in, before she thought about it then turned in, only ridden home from tire fitters so far, bit of rain around stopped me from going for a spin up the mountain, thanks for advise guys

I switched from the lazertech to the Metzler Marathon on the front 130/70-18. Much better. It is the same tire/tyre as on the VTX. The lazertec's did not last and seemed to vibrate.
