Dunstall Replicas just installed on my 05 Speedie after return from crankcase replacement. I needed to reduce from 1 3/4" headers to 1 1/2" pipes so had 2 12" pieces of 1 1/2" pipe cut, then expanded one end to 1 3/4" at a local muffler shop, that way I could mount the shorter pipes in the same place under the passenger peg mount. I may paint the reducers black or weld a chrome cover over them but they are fairly ok just left unfinished. The sound is louder than stock but very livable and allows me to hear the throb and power of the engine as I accelerate, shift and decelerate, nice idle too. The best part is they cost a whopping $52 apiece at Dennis Kirk w/ very nice chrome + $10 for the reducers!

Blah, blah, blah Jim! We need a picture!
Just kidding, you will get busted here to talking about mods with no pix, so I'll be the 1st to bust your chops.
Sounds interesting, I love an economical solution!
(wow - if you google "this thread is useless without pictures", a lot of bad things pop up)

OK, hopefully we got pics, I was waiting until my camera wouldn't freeze up in the nice 30 degree fall weather we're having (also had to shine some chrome for the pics. You can also see my Fieldsheer bags - $72.99 at New Enough (half price and very nice!) http://picasaweb.google.com/jim5968/200910Oct#

BTW these pipes are not quiet, nor extremely loud but significant w/ a nice small V8 sound above 3500 rpm - I like them because they're different sounding

Those look great! I've always loved that shape. If you could chrome the spacer/reducer they'd look awesome! Love to hear how they sound. Uncle Charlie

Anyone an expert on recording and uploading exhaust sound bytes? I'm all ears (so to speak)!

Those really do look good. Do the brackets match up with the brackets on your bike, or did you have to modify anything other than the reducer ?

Jim, I just went to the Dennis Kirk web site and when I tried to enter my bike type it had nothing for the America/Speedy. How did you locate the exhaust that you have ?

Thanks Tony. They're cheap enough that even though I like my debaffled original pipes I might just try a set.

Hi All, Sorry I've been offline for awhile. The pipes mounted directly to the OEM mounts when I used the 12" reducer/spacers to connect to the headers. After riding w/ them for awhile, I decided to try Chevy 505's since I got a good deal on an ebay auction (the bane of my financial existence). The 505's are slightly louder and deeper, but I still like having the Dunstalls as a backup set.
