Hey all..
We're moving from Asheville, NC (which has some of the best riding I have done yet) to Charlotte, NC. Can anyone recommend any rides?
Thanks
Chris

Back to Asheville??? LOL

I've lived in both cities and Asheville was my favorite of the 2.
It really depends on what side of town your moving to. Ride over to the NODA area if your into coffee/ art or beer / music. Hit the back roads around Lake Norman. Head south towards Waxhaw for horse farms and antiques. And of course, downtown for food and people watching.

Thanks George.. We're probably going to South Charlote..Not sure anything will compare with the BR Pkwy in the Fall or the apple orchards on the way up to Lake Lure. I'll try all of your suggestions.

You are close to me and there are some great rides in the area. Kings Mountain
state and national revolutionary war memorial parks are within a short ride and
well worth the trip. Crowders Mountain is a great ride too. I would be glad to
have the company for a ride the Carolina Foothills Scenic Highway from Gaffney to
Clemson, which is the closest thing to a Route 66 in this part of the country.

If ya'll decide to hit Hwy 11 let us know. Although it's mostly a long straight road, there are few great side roads with plenty of twisty turns.

Rev, you would enjoy Pretty Place. It's an open (wall-less) church on top of Caesar's Head, looking out towards Kings Mtn.

I've heard of Pretty Place, but have never been. I'll need to visit one day.
I'd forgotten about it since it came up in a long discussion between a
few ladies about a wedding there.

I saw a post somewhere that said something like:
"I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God,
than siting in church thinking about riding my motorcycle".

I would warn the author that such a statement says more about an
immature faith and lack of understanding in the area of fellowship
and relationships in their life than enjoying any activity.

not everyone needs a building to be in church, or to have a religious experience
