A friend of mine has a 1972 T120v Bonnie and is having problems fitting a Kisan signalminder. The 1972 T120v is a positive earth. He has contacted Kisan, they say it should work, but so far no joy.I wonder if anyone can help ?.
He has contacted our friend FastEddy but no joy. This is a copy of his e-mail to Kisan:
(( Details;
S2 Relay
Triumph Bonneville T 120 V. 1972. POSITIVE EARTH. System does work with standard Triumph relay so circuit is correct.
With relay connected in series with the 2 connecters and using a good earth:
One way nothing happens and the other way the 2 selected indicator lights stop on but do not flash. This appears to be the position as mentioned in Q 4 of FAQ. I believe I have effectively carried out the action suggested in the answer by swopping over the 2 leads. If not what is meant by the answer as the terminals on the relay are fixed and changing connector s 'upstream' is what I believe I am doing by swapping the connectors on the relay.
I have tried using the m/c battery giving 12.5 v and also when trickle charging giving 13.5 v. I get a V of 9.37 when connecting between the relay input and earth with 2 indicator lights lit.
Your FAQ no 3 seems to indicate that the relay is designed for a Negative earth as you suggest earthing direct to the neg battery lead!
I believe I have given all the info required but I can answer further questions and carry out any action you might advise.))
Any help would be appreciated.
