I know there are some posts about replacing the globes with sealed beams. Has anyone from Aussi or the UK found a sealed beam that works and can you provide P/N. The American ones are not acceptable in Australia/UK as the lens deflects the light in the wrong direction (due to driving on the other side of the road. (i.e, if you drive on the left hand side of the road, the beam gets deflected to the left so you do not blind oncoming traffic, but will light up more of the shoulder).

Just a note re my cracked headlight.I emailed an auckland triumph dealer was told a replacement was $550.Whether they thought i wanted the whole headlight i dont know.I only asked for the sealed beam unit.Anyway i went to the local repco shop found a Wagner-7019SS H4-P43T exactly the same.Perfect replacement at $30.My scooters a 08 america, but i think a lot of models have the same light.Hope this may help someone out, maybe not as many stones over yonder,Cheers for now, safe tracking, Abbo.

Some nice guy on a rocket kicked a stone into my headlight and smashed it a year or so ago, and I got the same $500+ price tag from Triumph. I bought a generic sealed beam unit from Supercheap Auto for about $17 instead. As I recall it took some minor (10 minutes) fiddling to get it to fit but it provides a better lighting pattern than the original and saved me a bucket full of money.

I found this on E-bay UK - apparently even has the parking light!! Might be worth sending him a question about if he ships to Oz, and how much will it cost?

I found a NARVA 7in lamp online that is locally available and I will explore this option. It is more expensive than a sealed beam ($55AUD) but you can use any H4 globe and has the Park light (not that I ever need it, although at least its something if your globe ever burns out).
I will report the outcome.

Not sure about that one I guess it could work, although if you look at the lens, the glass is really cut to a different profile. The other thing is that there is a locating tab in the headlight assembly to make sure the horizontal alignment is correct for the lens used.
Having said the above. I Purchased the Narva P/N 72036 Headlamp Insert with the Park Globe option. ($49.00AUD)
Two minor instalation issues: 1) The raised edge of the glass does not fit completely in the trim ring. I mounted it with the top half protruding but the bottom half of the lens is resting on the inside edge of the trim ring. The spring clips appear to hold everything in place and unless you really look close, it is not noticable. 2) You have to cut the wires to the park light and add a couple of female spade connectors.
You use the same globes (H4 and park).
I must admit, this increased my lighting by around 20% plus. I assume the reflector and lens is better quality than the OEM.
Thanks to all for the suggestions and help.

for the record buddy i wasn't meaning to rotate the lens in the headlight bucket.... rather twisting the whole assembly on the headlight mount would only need a couple of degree's if that much benny
