All, I just wanted to post my feedback on my newly installed SS Long Slashcuts. Fast Eddy is an amazing vendor. He will be getting my future business for parts needs. Dale at SS really makes some well made, gorgeous pipes that fit the lines of the bike perfectly. They sound amazing. All the video and soundclips I watched prior to my purchase do them no justice. You will not be disappointed in them! Deep, pronounced and noticeable. They are significantly louder than my Short TORS were, but by no means are they "obnoxious". I also removed the snorkel, added a K&N filter, added the extended pilot screws, and AI was previously removed. With this setup I installed 132 main jets and left the stock 42 pilot jets. 2 turns out on the pilot screws yields a little popping on deceleration. It seems to start easier than it ever did, and has great throttle response right off idle. It pulls very hard through WOT. I have some shims and also Thruxton needles and 128 main jets, that I might play with, but for now it is running great. If there is interest I can try to make a video much like I did with my TORS. Matt

Not all that glitters is gold. Tolkien. Hmm Must've seen the chrome on my TA coming down the road.

Will do. I'll take some later this afternoon. I only have a few from my iPhone, I'll actually get the camera out.

+1 on SS. I've had mine for over 4 years and still think they are the best looking pipes on the bike, not to mention, great performance and sound. My bike is the one on Fast Eddy's Specialty Spares picture.
I would advise repacking the baffles every 10-12K miles to keep the best performance and sound.

The good news is after 30,000 miles, mine look the same as on Day 1. I hope they are still using the same welder & plater.

And now the video. It doesn't really do it justice. The idle on the bike (I slowed it down to about 1000 rpm) is incredible! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uwyqSCXAk8

That's a nice clean line there latebreak. Sound good to, so are you still liking them better than the Short TORS?

Thanks!
I am still loving them! I need to do a several hour ride one of these days to see how they are on extended cruises, but from what I've heard they don't seem to drone at all at about 65-70mph.
It's running so good too I don't know if I even want to try the Thuxtron needles and 128 jets I have.

That's actually a pretty accurate vid on what the SS pipes sound like. Which is why I sold mine to someone who likes them that loud. Sorry Eddie. You are a distributor for Staintune pipes though for those who like a slightly toned down version. Hey bro, not everyone is the same and who knows someone who reads this might even enquire with you about the tunes. Mate, you've got one set for this bloke and another set for that one. You've got the game all sewn up
Staintune Pipes, K&N Pods, 45 pilots, TBS needles and 145 mains.
