Well, after having a stress filled couple of weeks, of over work, under paid and excessive bills, I took action last Monday. I got up, got dressed for work, sat down on the couch to wake up and contemplated the impending day. Then I said to myself, "nuts", took off my work clothes, called the help, put my biker clothes on, and headed out, in no real direction. Made it out to Marne, Iowa, and Baxter cycles. Finally took out an R3 and a new T Bird for a test ride. Liked them both, but liked the power of the T Bird the best. Wasn't crazy about the wide tanks on either of them, though. Called the wife to tell here I was driving home on a new bike, she replied with directions as to which curb to find my clothes on, changed my mind about the new bike, and headed back home. Perfect riding weather, just a little chilly with my a$$less chaps. Met some nice people, saw some interesting things, ate at an actuall A/W. restoraunt. 15 hours and 600 miles later, I'm de-stressed. And all this for only $50!

Most of us wear jeans under them.
Sounds like a great day and the perfect de-stress. More power to ya.

You are an inspiration, Rich. Think I might just try and scare my wife with "the call"

You're probably a better man for it.

Next time you feel like bailing on work Rich, give me a call, we can do lunch in Hannibal or something!

You did all that in a day? The call to the wife probably took an hour. Good for you Rich, you know the old saying: "You never find a motorcyle in front of a psychiatrist's office." Unless of course the doc rode to work that day.

Lord knows my wife has made "the call" to me enough times.
Her: "Hi! Guess where I am!"
Me: (Oh no. Please be at the mall.) "At the mall?"
Her: "No, I'm at the Pontiac dealership up the road."
Me: (Oh please God, not that crook!) "Are you getting a new air freshener?"
I'll leave the rest to your imagination.

Cool Rich. I know how you're feeling. I've logged up a LOT of hours at work too lately. I think you made the right decision...and good move with the phone call. I can almost see the look on your face as you made the call.

Wow! Yep Rich, I gotta admit, that measy 50 bucks sure seemed to cover a lot of your mental health coverage, alright! Talk about your "Healthcare Reform", HUH?! However, speakin' of "work and riding", while soakin' up the suds at my favorite brew pub yesterday, the owner of the place introduced me to another regular patron of his by the name of Bill Somethin'-or-other, who, until two years ago when he was downsized, worked for about 15 years across the street from said pub at the North America Honda Headquarters in Torrance CA as a test rider and prep-tech for all their new bikes loaned to "Cycle World" and "Motorcyclist" for their write-ups. (now, how cool would it be to have a job like THAT, huh?!)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
