I recently put the FREAK air box elimination kit from Brent at newbonneville.com. I also have D & D Pipes, and an 18t front sprocket. The Freak came with 160 main jets, which I installed. I believe the pilot jets are 45s, as that is what comes with the D & D pipes. Here comes the big question...the bike has a "soggy" response below 3000 to 2500 rpm, and then really seems to wake up. Does that mean I need to go back to 42 pilot jets? Should I just try to lean out the mixture via the screws on the underside of the carbs? Any advice would be appreciated.

Not you fat Jesus!

Wyrm74,

Well, I am not an expert, - but my trial and error process has lead me to the following (with "the Freak" installed"),

160 main jets
42 pilot jets
.020 needle shims
3 turns out

With those settings (at about 200ft. above sea level) I don't experience the flat spot you spoke of.

"Speedmaster" is a title not a name, - and the title is not plural.
