I see from the vault the pn: is T2012211. I guess the 04 speedmaster and the 03 are the same and this pn will work for both. My question is for those who have done this swap was it worth it? and where's the best place to buy it. some websites are more trouble than they are worth to fool with them. who's the easiest to deal with. thanks in advance. been wanting to do this swap and since it's chain and sprocket time again might as well do it all at once.

thanks for the response. I ordered the 03 thunderbird sport cush drive. Bike bandit uses a different pn. Hope it's the right one for my 04 speedy.

Talking to a mechanic from Triumph, he said silicone or slices of inter-tube would also work. Said he'd used the silicone rtv and let it set up for eight hours before moving the wheel for final assembely. Any thoughts on how you guys think it would work?

I don't think the silicone is a good idea but pieces of leather do work.

Chip, No offense and not directed at you but how freaking cheap does a person have to be! Why would anyone McGyver a part of a bike that is actually important.
I got one a while ago from my dealer. Didnt need it yet but I had the wheel off anyway. It went in with a very slight amount of persuasion. I remember feeling a bit of a difference but again, I really didnt need it.

Another vote for worth it. It will shore up the slop without making it too tight to drive.
Consider calling a dealer as opposed to mail order. The dealer should be able to both predict availability with some accuracy, and also ship it to you in a timely manner.
Some say the current & revised Speedmaster / America cush drive spec & part number is now the same as the T Bird. Don't know for sure.

I changed mine from stock to the T-Bird when the bike was less than two years old and got it replaced on warranty as mine was getting too much play. If Triumph was replacing stock with them back in '07, I can't imagine why they wouldn't have made the T-Bird version stock in the America and Speedmaster.

Several years ago, I put strips of rubber behind my stock 02 cush drive. Still works great. Probably have 15,000 miles on those strips now. I cut the strips from floor/wall/edge molding from Lowes. Total cost was less than $4. Highly recommended.
