I have a few pictures I would love to share but not sure how to post. This is a project that took me four months but as I look at it I am very proud . Someone want to help me get these on line? Trust me its not just another bike with bolt ons. Started out as a 08 bike with 10 miles on it that never made it home when the original owner crashed . Now its a bike I'm sure he wishes he could have back !

I love it, looks awesome. I'll ask before everyone else does. What you did there in the back with the rear fender, seat, etc?

Here are some of the details....
08 bike ( not FI )the the tank was damaged so replaced with a pre 07, tires are dunlop ww, front fender is off another bike also but stock america with modified bracketto clear the new tire height and width, frame was cut where the rear fender braces were, new rear fender is a JJ and very modified, its now mounted to the swing arm.speaking of the swing arm it's stretched 6",measures 96" tire to tire, rear tail light is a common bobber light, seatpan was made to fit me for lenth and curve then sent to "Bitchin'Stitchin" in Denver to be padded and covered in leather.relocated the battery into the frame and did away with the side covers,k&N air filters, color idea came from my H3 its called "boulder gray", D&D pipes were on the bike when I bought it ,they sound great but have some slight damage.Would like to replace but they are exspensive so will have to wait. The America has always been a bike I liked but being 6'1" with a 35" inseam they just felt "too small" but now this is what I was wishing for

That's one heckuva good lookin' bike. Great job. Love the clean rear fender/sparto, the solo seat, and the whitewalls.

Out-friggin-standing. I love it. I've always loved the rear fender mounted on the swingarm look. Stretching it gives it all some "breathing room." And it finally makes sense to have a sprung/tractor style seat. Another favorite thing? The painted headlight body, color matched to the tin. Very nice touch.

Very nice...Ive always wanted to see a sprung solo seat with the battery relocated. Very bare-bones being able to see the frame and whatnot. The stretched swingarm is freaking awesome too...dont know if I like the overall length of the bike....but the rear end sure is nice.

Get moving on those bars and that speedo. They both look out of place and "stock" compared to the rest of the good work done so far.

Very cool, I love the rear fender and solo seat. The monochrome gray finish is a nice touch, too. How's the rear feel since you moved the upper shock mounting point?

Does JJ fender mean Jesse James? What cutting did you do to the frame where the fender struts were? I figure you cleaned up the frame. Once you remove the fender struts those little frame stubs underneath aren't that attractive (or useful).

Yeah those top frame rail pieces are definately trimmed up.

Oh yeah, dude, get rid of that chain guard...You gotta show that long azz chain off seriously. Speaking of which I didnt notice any tensioner or anything...hows the sag while hitting dips?

The fender is a Jesse James and the radius had to be cut on both sides as well as the chain area. A mount was welded in to hold the front down low and as you can see I had to fab the rear mounts then weld on tabs to the swing arm. The frame was cut just behind the shock mounts then I fabed a plate to tie them back together and create a rear mount for the seat. Handles great and everything worked out very well.

My only complaint is this: a couple of your photos are blurry.

No kiddin' Dennis. I've use ta' stop in Castle Rock every weekend on my way up to Denver when I was in the service at Ft. Carson. (many friggin' years ago...) I was riding a Kawi 900 I bought with my enlistment bonus back then. Wish I were in the area - I'd absolutely love to head on up into the mountains with ya'. Great bike you've got there.

Very nice bike indeed. Here I saw the Cheese (Wisconsin) plate on the bike and thought you might be in the Mauston area (Castle Rock Lake)......

Very nice work - I really like it!
Folks are mentioning a "sprung" solo seat. I don't see any springs to the seat, it just looks like a solid mount solo seat from this angle. I puzzle over sprung solo seats with shocks, makes no sense to me.

The seat is mounted solid to a mounting plate. I thought about the springs but why? I have the shocks and wanted a clean look with out any "clutter" Bike rides smooth and then the look well you can see how it looks
