I like a good bike rally as folks who know me may testify.

So what are the good ones to go to in the States (maybe even Canada)and roughly when are they on?

Just thinking ahead here as I'm going to be moving to MA next year.

I promise I'll be a good boy and bring tentpoles.

Hopefully I won't need the waterproofs as much.

The first place to start would be the various rallies organised by the folks on here.

Otherwise, apart from Sturgis, Daytona Bike week & British in the Blue Ridge,( What a name dropper!!) I don't know what any of these are like but I am guessing if it aint here, it aint happening!!

As to the ones I mentioned, all are worth a visit, Daytona & BITBR usually get a good turnout from folks on here. Otherwise they will usually all be HD orientated.

Graham what about Dent?!

When are you leaving? We could have the Thank the Lord Graham's Leaving Rally for your last rain soaked UK Rally.
No tent poles allowed.

Hope it works out well for you mate!

Good luck!

If you miss the road over there you could be missing for weeks

Sandy is planning on getting me and the cats microchipped before we leave.

Otherwise as it stands I intend to go to Dent and the Euro rally agin but if the house sells quick (not on the market yet) then I may be over there sooner than I think.

Don't worry Ivan I might still be around to make an ****** of myself in 2010!

Otherwise I guess Sturgis and Daytona are the obvious choices to go to but I really want to get to the bonnevilleamerica rallies over there and put some faces to names I so frequently see on here.

How about a ride to Vegas?
After you sober up there is great riding out here:
Vally of Fire,Death Vally(best enjoyed in the Fall)Red rock canyon,Lake Meade.
Its also a few hour ride to Southern CA,I understand there is some stuff to do there too.

Graham, 2 big events a little more closer to where you'll be is Americade and Laconia bike week:

http://www.americade.info/americade_faq.htm

http://www.laconiabikeweek.net/

I've never been to Americade and it's been years since I've been to Laconia, but both are described as very good events.

Also, there are 2 British Iron Assoc. groups, one in MA and one in Connecticut who put on smaller local events.

http://www.massbia.com/

http://www.ctbritiron.org/

The CT group may actually be closer to you.

Thank you very much for all the information.

Hopefully I'd like to get to some rallies and as many BA.com meets as possible, so hopefully if you see someone looking lost on a speedmaster in your area then at least point me in the right direction!

Where in MA? As mentioned, there is a large CT contingent you could ride with pretty frequently. And the Bennington Triumph Bash at the end of april/early may!! Awesome time.

Cheers Ben,

We are aiming to move to the Pittsfield area but really anywhere around western MA. The wife has just left for there today to go and get stuff started.

Graham, are YOU in luck here or WHAT, dude!!!

I just read on the internet that a certain Baron von Kipling had ANOTHER summer villa located in the southwestern portion of the good ol' U.S. of A!!!

Yep!!! And it just so happens that it's VERY near Prescott Arizona, where it ALSO just so happens that there's a Triumph motorcycle rally which takes place during the month of May each year!!!

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Yeah!

Sounds like a place to visit.

I'll just need plenty of sunscreen, a couple of chains just in case and some tent poles and i'll be sorted.

Definetly be nice to catch up with you again there Dwight.
