Yesterday I road to Michagan to meet a friend so we could ride back together. It was a rainy day so we had the rain gear and took the turnpike towards Ohio. Other then the rain it was a pretty boring ride and we were cruising about 70mph. Until the Jetta. Outside of Strongsville Ohio the rain really started pounding and we were cruising behind a Blue Jetta. All at once the Jetta back end swings to the right then to the left, next thing we know the Jetta spins not once not twice but three times. I was staggered behind my buddy Bill and thank God we didnt panic. Bill takes his hand off the throttle a second before I do so in one lane I pass Bills Harley all as the Freaking Jetta is spinning. As he hits the wall I pass him his front was facing the wrong way so I can see the 18 year old drivers face. We got by safe but the heart was pumping. When we got of the road at the next road side rest we both were laughing like little kids. Amazing what a close call will do to you. Thank God we both knew not to hit the brakes and I am truly greatful that the Jetta got stuck in the wall and didnt bounce the 5 feet off it and nail me. That was as close as I have ever been to being nailed on my bike and its not till the next day that the reality of how close it really was. Cool head and two good riders made the difference and a ton of LUCK

Maybe the youngster had his cruise control on? Glad you and your friend made it through safely!

Now don't that just go to show ya:
1 - Ya can never be prepared for it all 2 - Ya never know what can happen which is why # 1 exists.
That was scary!! Glad your luck held out and you're okay. I wonder if the Jetta guy got outta his predicament okay too.
Live to love, love to live.

Glad you made it out alive, Chris.
I used to own an '86 BMW 325I. These things had light rear ends, and I had an event in it almost exactly as what happened with the Jetta when I merely tried to change lanes. I went around about three times. Bounced off a wall, and ended up in the ditch. I sold that ****** car as soon as repairs were made. It wasn't one of BMW's best balanced models, and many 325 owners put sandbags in the trunk to make up for it. Dumb!
