Im doing much better now since my wreck.... little sore still in parts but doing good foe the most part.... i got the rest of my stitches out of my arm this morning. still having troubles with swelling in my left hand which has proven a bear because i am left handed. I am in my first week back to school but im making progress everyday.. Yesterday for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks i can close my hand enought to make a fist. I start my physical theropy sessions today. The bike did not fair so well....it is a total loss and i lost my ****** on this bike...I put a lot of work into my bike and anyone that has seen it can vouch for that....but i got just a little less than payoff...the even worse news is i cannot get financeing for a new triumph because i have been laid off and enrolled in school and my only income is unemployment for the time being...sad part is I had them run my credit on a new thunderbird...this kinda broke my heart but soon i will be back on my feet and riding again...I have 2 more options for a bike.. first one is talk to my local honda shop(grew up with the owners son) and see if i can pick up a vtx 1800.....i will not get my hopes up on this one because of my situation...and my second optiion is to put the 69 daytona 500 back on the road and ride it....I probably wont be able to do much traveling on this bike but its better than nothing and i would have a really cool bike to ride....well just wanted to fill everyone in on what is going on and let everyone know im supposed to make a full recovery minus battle scars and some numbness in me left ring finger(im saying its numb from the wreck not because i got married lol)

Glad to hear you are reasonably okay. Sorry about the bike but better it be totaled than you. You have a lot to be thankful for. Take your time with everything.

Dang, Scott. I'm glad to hear you're on the mend but sorry about the bike. That's a real loss. Your ride was one sweet lookin machine. I'll give you a ring or a pm and 'check in on ya'. Take care, bud.

Hey Scott, good to hear your doing better. If you're looking, my dealer has a yellow/black Speedmaster with 3900 miles that they are selling for a customer. He wants 4k, but they told me he would take less just to sell it.

Sorry to here about your wreck, and the hand. I also totaled my America two years ago damaged my right hand (dominate). With the help of a couple of mates the bike is about ready to go, I think my hand will now handle a short ride now and again.
I hope you get riding soon!!

Good for you Scott,

As one of the board's so-called "walking wounded", it's good to hear of good news.

My own little rehab has another 1-2 months, whilst the fractured fairy tale pelvis heals, But everything's good. A few months away from work isn't entirely unwelcome.

My bike was totalled, though Friar John is in a better position to describe the damage. My memory of the mishap consists of waking up in a London hospital. I still haven't sorted that out, except pain meds can have bizarro world side effects. Drinking hot chocolate at the nurses station at 4 am was a definite high point

The insurance company is allowing me $3,900, so I didn't quibble a lot on the offer.

Hmmmmm........... t-bird, another america, a tiger . At this point the t-bird interests me, so I watch the owner reports posted on the board.
