I caught the new Tarantino flick this evening. Although impossibly long, I didn't find myself looking at my watch (a rarity for a new movie lately). Overall I'd give it an A-. A much better movie than the "Grindhouse" flicks. I'd like to see it again, on DVD. The soundtrack was great as well, the credits rolled pretty quickly and I missed some of the songs featured. Anyone else catch the movie?

Watched it this weekend. Loved it. It will be an injustice if the guy that played the "Jew Hunter" doesn't win an oscar. He was simply brilliant- he really did a great job of making me want to see him suffer horrible painful death...

Christoph "Jew Hunter" Waltz had a pretty good interview on the Adam Carolla Podcast. Seems pretty down to earth. Carolla was lavishing much praise upon him, and deservedly so. http://www.adamcarolla.com/ACPBlog/2009/08/23/adam-and-christoph-waltz/How about Mike Myers? His best part in many years.

I'm giving the next Oscar to the director who can come up with great movie and keep the runtime under 2 hours, my only minor gripe with the movie. I just watched "Watchmen" on DVD and it took me three evenings!

Inglorious Basturds. I thought that was what Triumph America riders were.....as opposed to Glorious Turds who ride speedies?
Anyway....I read one review that kinda hit the film hard for having the Jews being the merciless killers. I think it was Time magazine. Dont remember.
I plan to see this as I truly find Tarantino films funny and entertaining.

I tried to "watch" Watchmen but became so bored with the manner it unfolded that I ejected the disc and foreswore the dollar rental fee.
That one put me to sleep.

They weren't merciless- the entire point of there mission was to scare the ****** out of the Natzis. They proved very successful in there endeavor.

I absolutely agree! He played his character so charmingly, disarmingly, and totally evil that I didn't see an actor up there up on the screen at all. It was on a par with the Joker last year, but completely different in the approach. It reminded me in some ways of elements in the Columbo character played by Peter Falk.
Anyone know why Brad Pitt's character had the neck scar?

Gonna see "inglorius" this weekend with my dad. He has always loved WW2 military movies. As to Watchmen, I liked it. Different, not totally predictable, a hot chick, kinda corny/cool special effects and decor. Who cares if it's long, if it's entertaining. And I never did understand people who go to sleep halfway through a flick, or get antsy and have to watch it in three different bits. What's up, ADHD?

Different strokes. Watchmen sucked to me. Too slow developing.
Heck ...I even threw out the copy of the disc. It was that bad to me.

The scripts says: "Lt. ALdo has one defining physical characteristic, a ROPE BURN around his neck. As if once upon a time, he survived a LYNCHING. The scar will never once be mentioned"
