i need a base gasket for the 904cc wiseco BB kit, wiseco only sells the entire top-end kit for over 100 bones. i was hoping maybe someone may have an angle i dont know about, as to aquiring one without purchasing the entire kit.
the dealership said making an organic gasket is not the best idea for a replacement, so i guess i will have to believe them though it was not made real clear as to why. im open to any suggestions.

i should add that the wiseco base gasket is metal like the OEM, but differs because it is not flat. it has raised area's that crush in when the top-end is torqued down.
the BB kit installed reduces the width of sealing surface around the cylinders greatly, which is why i thought an organic gasket may seal better (with the edition of a flexible bonding agent). like i said, open to suggestions.

I'm curious why you only need the base gasket. If you have the cylinders off, you're gonna need a head gasket too.

Richard, that s*cks! I guess a new original gasked is too small for the bigger cylinder liners?

That raises an interesting question, if you run nikasil barrels, the outside cylinder dimension should be unchanged, right? Only the pressed steel sleeves would be a larger outside diameter, and then the stock size gasket wouldn't work.
Always remember to be yourself. Unless you suck. Then pretend to be someone else.
